Keep the waist straight. Slightly curve the neck. Extend the arms like the wings of a vulture. Press the tongue against the upper palate, and keep the lips and teeth in their natural state. The gaze should not cause the eyelids to touch, and the eyeballs should not move, but rather be lowered to the tip of the nose. As the son of the Victorious One, Stainless Fame Moon Lion (Drimé Drakpa Dawa Sengé), said: "By the greatness of dependent arising arranged in the body, experience arises in the mind; this is the key to the posture of the illusion wheel." The speech illusion wheel is: Holding the wind of effortless bodhicitta, which means to breathe naturally without effort. The mind illusion wheel is: Gathering the mind, eyes, and tip of the nose into one, without the mind being tainted by good or bad thoughts, let it play naturally. By abiding in this way, the wisdom of non-discrimination will arise, and one will know that one's own nature abides naturally. As the nun Lhamo Palgyi Sengé said: "The essence is like a frog, the light of the golden sun radiates, the wisdom of realization arises without obstruction, the key to the great seal, know it well!" Furthermore, in order to recognize the ordinary consciousness that is empty from the beginning, let it play. If one cannot abide in it and does not recognize emptiness, then one should relax the thoughts, as the Doha says: "This mind bound by ropes, if released, there is no doubt of liberation." If emptiness is truly realized, then one should vigorously shatter the appearing clarity, and through meditation, the result will become better and better. As the guide Palgyi Nyingpo said: "Because abiding is achieved by shattering the sound of clear samadhi, the result becomes better, therefore short sessions and many repetitions are the key to not being overcome by dullness." Thus, the length of sessions and the number of repetitions should be adjusted according to one's own condition, not being controlled by dullness, alternately practicing tightening and loosening, in this way, one can eradicate thoughts from the root and abide in the wisdom of clarity and non-discrimination. If this arises, then one should be guided, divided into three: guiding to recognize the essence of emptiness, knowing how to abide in the nature of clarity, and knowing how to be liberated by the dissipation of characteristics. First, guiding to recognize the essence of emptiness: through the three illusion wheels, allow consciousness to abide without support, and there are three ways to guide, first the external

Cutting off attachments: However things appear and however clear they may seem, there is no true establishment in external appearances. These are illusory appearances of one's own mind, like the spectacle of a dream. As the sutra says: These are merely perceptions, because they appear as objects, they are not truly existent. For example, those with cataracts see non-existent things like hairs and moons. This is the cutting off of external attachments. Cutting off internal attachments: If appearances are illusory appearances of one's own mind, then what is the nature of that mind itself? When the mind looks at the mind, that mind has no cause of arising, no basis of abiding, and its own essence is not established, like clear sky. As the Mother (Prajnaparamita) says: There is no mind in the mind, the nature of mind is luminosity. And as the Ornament of the Sutras says: Having understood all phenomena as one's own mind, then one realizes that even the mind is non-existent. This is the cutting off of internal attachments. Cutting off intermediate attachments: If appearances are illusory appearances of one's own mind, and the mind itself is emptiness that is not established in any way, then what are these various thoughts and awarenesses that arise? This is the unobstructed manifestation of the self-display of emptiness, like the wind in the sky or a bubble in water. There is no place of origin in the beginning, no place of going in the end, and no place of abiding in the middle. One's own essence is not established in any way, but the power manifests without any obstruction. As the Doha says: Whatever arises from the mind, that is the nature of the Protector. Are water and water waves different? This is the cutting off of intermediate attachments. Second, knowing how to abide in the clarity of one's own nature: This is to abide in and become accustomed to the meaning of having cut off attachments as before. Look intently and rest in the state of non-establishment. Relax and let go, and rest in the meaning of no effort or striving. Break apart forcefully and rest in the nature of no action or effort. By resting in this way, three experiences will arise: an experience of not following after objects and being free from thoughts; an experience of not being attached to experiences and being free from grasping; and an experience of being beyond thought and being free from meditation. Third, knowing how to be liberated when characteristics manifest: If thoughts arise from the state of resting in this way, what should one do? At that time, there is no need to abandon thoughts, but rather to look intently at the thought itself. Because nothing is truly established, like a wave of water or the wind in clear space, the movement naturally clears. Seeing directly, one goes directly to liberation, without moving from that state.
