However, due to the cause of inverted thoughts, beings are tormented in a wheel of suffering and become miserable. Therefore, in order to be liberated from this, one must practice the sacred Dharma. Moreover, considering the levels of beings' minds, the Buddha taught limitless gates of vehicles. This Dharma here is as the venerable and holy one said: "For beings tormented by suffering, I shall explain the cool, stainless pacification." Thus, having specifically applied the general name of the sacred Dharma, the Dharma that has obtained the special name is called the Pacification of Suffering. Regarding this, due to the power of the great accomplished one having come to Tibet many times, in the three lineages of Early, Later, and Intermediate, there are three oral traditions of pith instructions. First, for the guidance of the first transmission, is the order of the Lama lineage and the instructions that arise from it. The first is: The King of Sages, Vajrapani, Tara, Nagarjuna, the miraculously born Ādibuddha, Dampa Sangye. Kache Jñana Guhya, Wonpo Pelden Sherab. From these two, Upa Loton Tsunchung heard.
