When practicing Dharma, it is important to rely on a powerful Dharma protector who can pacify obstacles and accomplish favorable conditions. Among them, this special Dharma-protecting guardian is stainless. In the Wrathful Tantra, it says: "Of the monk Simha, this doctrine and a thousand Buddhas, will protect the doctrine for one great kalpa. Beneath him, all of us, in the pure land of ashes, aspire to Buddhahood as the lord of ashes." As it is said, in general, he protects the doctrine of a thousand Buddhas, and in particular, the doctrine of the Teacher Shakyamuni. Furthermore, in the Great River of Needs Sutra, it says: "Great deity Mahākāla, I entrust you." Just as he was appointed as the protector of the tantra, the doctrine of the venerable and holy Buddha, the sacred Dharma, the pacifier of suffering, is blessed, is the guardian of the command, and is unparalleled.

In order to practice in a way that the blessings of the lineage, past, present, and future, converge like a river, the activities of the teacher precede. Now it is your turn, first offer the mandala. Then, in order to request the blessings of the wisdom protector A-gho-ra, who is inseparable from the teacher and the deity, recite this prayer: All Buddhas of the three times, Whose activities are unified, Whose name is A-gho-ra, Mighty wrathful one, Bestow the empowerment of body, speech, and mind. (Recite three times) Then, in order to purify the continuum, with the intention of offering the pure seven-branch offering before the special field of merit, recite this: I prostrate and take refuge in the precious ones, the yidam deities, with a devout heart. To all the dakinis and dharma protectors, I offer offerings created by the mind. Whatever sins I have committed, I confess them all individually. To all the bodhisattvas who benefit sentient beings, I rejoice in them all. Until samsara is empty, I beseech you not to pass into sorrow. Lords with great compassion, I urge you to turn the wheel of dharma. Whatever merit all beings have accumulated, I dedicate it to enlightenment. (Recite three times) Thinking that all sentient beings, self and others, are seeking refuge and reliance in the lama and the Three Jewels, and with the thought that for the benefit of others, I will generate the three minds of aspiration, action, and ultimate bodhicitta from now on, recite this: I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, for the sake of desiring liberation. In order to accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings, I generate the three bodhicitta. (Recite three times) Then, introduce into the mandala, and in order to show the true face of the deity, clarify the protector and retinue of the front generation in the mind of the disciple. In the sky in front of you, in the center of the Kalingka charnel ground, on the burning blue triangle, on the lotus, moon, sun, and corpse seat, is the glorious wisdom protector A-gho-ra, body color dark blue-black, one face, two arms, holding a sandalwood handle and a skull cup, wearing a black cloak and a golden belt, copper shoes, adorned with skulls, snakes, and jewels, with the left leg extended, residing in the midst of blazing flames, on the right is Legden Nakpo waving a handle, holding a skull cup.
