噶瓦，即最为著名的成就者，尤其这位怙主曾行十三日之修法，故亲现尊容，此后如仆人般役使。于金刚座前，以八十金币之盛大荟供，多日供养成就者们，于迎请上师、本尊、空行、护法之福分时，亦皆汇集一处，唯独赞颂这位怙主，并以不变金刚之语许诺道：“种姓之子，汝与汝之弟子及传承者，我将灌顶加持，成办五种事业。”故对于主要属于吉祥香巴噶举派之智慧空行尼古玛之教法实修者而言，即使未修此护法，亦能无碍成办四种事业，向修行者显现尊容等，实为极大的助益。如是智慧怙主之零星法类，智成就者琼波虽曾赐予其他弟子，然对拉堆巴·衮却喀、证悟者香贡·曲僧、莫乔巴·仁钦策珠三人圆满赐予，故从前者之传承，有怙主九尊、千手千眼具饰之法类等，具足广大加持之门，无边安住，是为怙主上部法。后二者之所有诀窍，皆汇集于衮顿杰冈巴大师处。彼传于桑结年顿，彼传于卓衮·桑结顿巴。此后，解开了一代单传之禁制，故智成就者藏玛香顿、桑丁巴·云努珠、日贡座主、阿阇黎阿依僧格等具缘者，广赐讲说之教言等，是为怙主下部法。如是，主要有上下二种传承，此处为下部法。其中，从座主传至帕摩竹巴及四僧团等，于卫藏地区得到极大弘扬。桑丁派有南北二断法。香顿之弟子嘉巴有上下中三传承等。从彼等繁衍出怙主白蓝之法类等，萨迦派

Kawa, the most famous accomplished one. In particular, this Protector performed the practice for thirteen days, and thus showed his face directly. Thereafter, he was employed like a servant. In front of the Vajra Throne, with a great feast offering of eighty gold coins, he offered to the accomplished ones for many days and nights. Also, when invoking the blessings of the Lama, Yidam, Dakini, and Dharma Protector, all were gathered together, and only this Protector was praised. He promised with the words of immutable Vajra, "Son of lineage, to you and your disciples and lineage holders, I will empower and bless, and accomplish the five activities." Therefore, for those who practice the teachings of Niguma, the Wisdom Dakini, who mainly belong to the glorious Shangpa Kagyu lineage, even without practicing this Dharma Protector, the four activities can be accomplished without hindrance, showing his face to the practitioners, etc., which is of great benefit. Such minor Dharma categories of the Wisdom Protector, although the accomplished Khyunpo gave them to other disciples, he fully gave them to Lato-pa Konchok Khar, Realized Zhang Gom Choseng, and Mokchokpa Rinchen Tsondu. Therefore, from the lineage of the former, there are the Protector Nine Deities, the Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes adorned Dharma categories, etc., possessing a vast gate of blessings, abiding limitlessly, which is known as the Upper Tradition of the Protector. All the instructions of the latter two were gathered at the great Gon Ton Kyergangpa. He transmitted it to Sangye Nyenton, who transmitted it to Drogon Sangye Tonpa. Thereafter, the one-lineage seal was opened, so the accomplished Tsangma Shangton, Samdingpa Yönnu Drup, Rigong Throne Holder, Acharya Ai Sengge, and other fortunate ones were widely bestowed with the teachings to be explained, etc., which is known as the Lower Tradition of the Protector. Thus, there are mainly two traditions, and here it is the Lower Tradition. Among them, from the Throne Holder it was transmitted to Phagmo Drupa and the Four Assemblies, etc., and it greatly flourished in Ü-Tsang. The Samding tradition has the Southern and Northern Chöd. The disciple of Shangton, Jagpa, has the Upper, Lower, and Middle lineages, etc. From these, the Dharma categories of the White and Blue Protector, etc., spread to the Sakya school.
