There is no effect. If it is taken as a sign of illness or evil spirits, it will become an obstacle. Therefore, neither happy nor unhappy, but let it be as it comes. The third is that body and mind appear as bliss and clarity. The fourth refers to the appearance of clear light effortlessly, day and night. The fifth fundamental difference between experience and realization in day and night is: that is, when deities and bindus etc. are fabricated by the mind and newly meditated upon, no matter how clear or unclear they appear, it is neither clear light nor the self-appearance of the deity. When the mind is restrained and placed, with the desire and conceptualization of effort, the mind abides slightly, and there is a feeling that there is an experience of bliss and clarity. No matter when this happens in the state of waking up, it is not the actual clear light. It is only the cause of clear light. Therefore, no matter when it is, in any session or interval, without deliberately making effort, the self-arisen mind, clear, empty, blissful, and non-conceptual, is called clear light. It makes no difference whether it occurs during the day or at night. Also, at that time, although there is no strong desire to generate, if the deity appears clearly in oneself and externally, it is called the self-appearance of the illusory body deity. There is no difference between waking and dreaming. These are just the foolish words of us practitioners, or just complaints like carrying a heavy burden. I confess to the Khenpos and scholars of the tantras. It would be good if one could experience something reliable in one's own state. Even if criticized, there is nothing to be afraid of. If one can practice, then for us beginners, whether wise or foolish, there is no need for great difficulty, nor for long persistence, and it will come. Even when obstacles arise, it will come a little. It is also beneficial to the mind, so it will be temporarily comfortable and happy. The classification of the illusory body and the union of clear light of the high levels is not something that we beginners can practice. These things that can be practiced now will eventually become the solid cause of those. It is like cultivating a small seedling well from the beginning, and eventually reaping a harvest. For such clear light, there are two types: the clear light of experience and the clear light of realization. These two can be divided into the clear light of waking during the day and the clear light of sleeping at night, so there are four.

Furthermore, dividing the with-appearance and without-appearance into two categories each, it becomes eight types. The four with-appearance types have four that are related to external objects and four that are unrelated, making eight. The four without-appearance types also have thin luminosity and thick luminosity, divided into two each, making eight. Altogether, there are sixteen types. If a student has arisen experience, then explain in detail the recognition of these, and introduce which luminosity has arisen in him. If the student has not arisen experience, and for a gathering of various assembled people, it is sufficient to explain only the names of the sixteen divisions. Thus, these five – mixing, ultimate, and subsequent dharmas – although included in the luminosity that distinguishes within the six dharmas, in reality, they are known to be the instructions for cultivating experience after having completed the instructions for tummo, illusory body, dream, and luminosity. In these subsequent dharmas, there are many important points for the purpose of practice, but since they are instructions to be practiced sequentially later, they are not now categorized as immediate-use objectives. It should be combined with the amount of practice sessions. Thus, these are also called the four root dharmas, and also called mixing illusory body. Regarding mixing and transference, in the various instructions of the translator Marpa, there are many different classifications of mixing, but they are not explained here. According to the system of this instruction itself, as mentioned above, there are four mixings such as the mixing of clarity and emptiness, and also there is the saying of mixing transference, four wisdoms or three wisdoms. Among them, the three wisdoms are: the wisdom of mistaken knowledge, the wisdom of conventional knowledge, and the wisdom of ultimate knowledge. Furthermore, if we take the great bliss accomplished by a special method as a premise, then, at the very first arising of bliss, there is also one mind of contaminated clinging, which is the mistaken knowledge. That itself arising as bliss like an illusion of mind is the conventional knowledge, so the mistaken is mixed with the wisdom of conventional knowledge. That also arising in the unmade sphere is the ultimate knowledge, so the conventional is mixed with the wisdom of ultimate knowledge. On top of whatever arises, recognize the arising of the sphere, that is the mixing of wisdom and whatever appears. As an example, the misty appearance that arises during waking time, etc.
