Thus. If the mind is not realized as Buddha, it will be reduced to ordinariness and suffer. Therefore, one should recognize one's own mind as Buddha, and understand that the nature of one's own mind is luminous, without attachment to happiness, clear without clinging, without the characteristics of grasping and being grasped, and free from all extremes of elaboration such as sinking and excitement. This is called Mahamudra. It is also called the ultimate truth. Therefore, whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down, whatever one does, it is important to remain in the state of Mahamudra day and night. By practicing in this way, one can attain Buddhahood, endowed with the three kayas and five wisdoms. To practice Tummo, first take refuge and generate bodhicitta, etc. Visualize your own body as the Yidam Chakrasamvara in union with his consort, and that the inside of the body is completely empty, like a sieve. From the crown of the head to the soles of the feet, to the tips of the toes, everything is empty, sparse, and thin. Within this emptiness, four fingers below the navel, on top of a sun disc the size of a wheel. Visualize Guru Dhaja Shri Bhadra (Tibetan: གུ་རུ་དྷཱ་ཛ་ཤྲཱི་བྷ་དྲ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: गुरु धा ज श्री भद्र, Sanskrit Romanization: Guru Dhā Ja Shrī Bhadra, Literal Chinese Meaning: Guru Da Zha Xi Ri Ba Zha) himself, naked, making the mudra of the sixfold fire altar. His body is red, as bright as a piece of iron heated by fire. Invite and dissolve into that place all the Kagyu lineage lamas, as well as other lamas who have received empowerment, transmission, and instructions, all the Yidams, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, heroes and dakinis. Contemplate them as the great lord of all gatherings, and make fervent prayers from the depths of your heart. Then practice breath control. Exhale smoothly and slowly from the three nostrils, right, left, and center, and then hold your breath as long as possible. At first, exhale slightly, and then exhale forcefully and slowly, making a "sang sang" sound. Do not allow the breath to be interrupted between breaths. Inhale through the nose, not through the mouth, inhale as much as possible, and swallow it mixed with phlegm. This is the key to reversing the breath, which can send the breath to the navel tip in the abdomen. When you cannot bear it, exhale, and then hold and press down again. Then practice channel purification. Visualize within your own body, which is clear in emptiness, the central channel, endowed with four qualities, as bright as a sesame oil lamp. As red as safflower juice. As straight as a tree trunk. As thin as a lotus stem. It is about the size of a medium arrow shaft in thickness, with the upper end reaching the crown of the head and the lower end reaching the secret place. Visualize it gradually increasing in size, as thick as a bamboo stick,

Just me. Then the whole body transforms into the nature of the central channel. In that reddish and thin space. Again, visualize the central channel as possessing four qualities, with its upper end inserted into the crown of the head and its lower end inserted four fingers below the navel, focusing awareness completely on the lower end without distraction. This is the preliminary practice. The main practice is threefold: First, the essential points of the body. Perform the six-fold binding of the crucible of the wheel: cross the legs like eyes, with the right leg outside and the left leg inside, pressing the perineum with the heel of the left foot when crossing. Bind the hands like a lasso: cross the left thumb over the ring finger of the right hand, join the two thumbs, and bind them with the four fingers of the right hand. Then tightly bind the outside with the four fingers of the left hand, placing this mudra four fingers below the navel. Bend the neck like an iron hook, joining the neck itself to the Adam's apple. Straighten the waist like an arrow. Extend the arms like eagle's wings, raising them in front. Tighten the body and mind like a plum, and fasten the meditation belt with proper tightness, neither too tight nor too loose, with the power of blessing. Then, clear the channels of wind: perform the nine rounds of expulsion, exhaling forcefully and for a long duration three times to the right, left, and center. Contract the upper body and exhale forcefully and briefly three times. Exhale gently and for a long duration three times. Holding the wind in its natural place: without letting it escape from the mouth, gently and for a long duration draw in the wind from outside through the nostrils. When the force is exhausted, mix it with saliva and swallow it down to the tip of the lower abdomen. Then, without pressing on the lower channels, relax the upper body and leave the mouth slightly open. Then draw the lower wind three times each to the right, left, and center. Press the anus against the ground. Then, subdue: when the wind is almost unbearable, repeat as before, inhale and hold, and when it is unbearable, exhale all the remaining wind completely. When exhaling, slightly contract the navel inward and first exhale gently from the nose, then exhale with all your strength, exhaling those for a long duration. Focus on the lower abdomen. Do not let the intermediate wind enter the intestines, but keep it outside. When it does not stay outside, inhale as before and complete all these wind exercises, one to the right, one to the back, one to the left, and one to the front, making one complete round of four.
