Now, in a state of clarity, with a slight exertion of life force, when subtle thoughts arise, contemplate the form of a deity. Since one cannot remain solely in the clear light of sleep, when the winds stir and the illusions of dreams begin to arise slightly, recognize that as a dream, and through the instructions on transformation, become accustomed to arising as the form of a deity. Therefore, at the time of death, if one can recognize the clear light of death, and in the clear light of appearance and increase, when the light combines with the winds and is close to moving and arising, the deity's form appears instantaneously like an illusion, thereby attaining the Sambhogakaya. For those who have not attained stability even after contemplating both the clear light and the illusory body, the connection is made through transference to the Nirmanakaya. In this regard, there are two aspects: practice and application. In terms of practice: In a secluded place, possessing the seven features of Vairochana, contemplate the guru on the crown of the head. Pray for the path of transference to be accomplished, and dissolve it into oneself. Within one's body, which is visualized as the yidam, visualize the central channel as if it were a pillar, extending from the crown of the head to the secret place. In the center of the navel, visualize a red ĀḤ(藏文,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:Ah). In the heart, visualize the essence of mind as a black HŪṂ(藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum). At the aperture of Brahma at the crown of the head, visualize a white KṢA(藏文,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:Ksha) blocking it. Inhale the upper wind and draw in the rear wind, performing kumbhaka. Then, draw both winds upwards with great force, focusing the wind, bindu, and mind on the KṢA(藏文,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:Ksha). As the life-sustaining wind rises upwards, the ĀḤ(藏文,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:Ah) at the navel is stirred and propelled upwards, passing through the central channel and touching the HŪṂ(藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum). Push the HŪṂ(藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) upwards, transferring it, and push the KṢA(藏文,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:Ksha) at the crown of the head, visualizing it as about to exit upwards. If one cannot control the wind, return the HŪṂ(藏文,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Hum) and KṢA(藏文,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:Ksha) to their original places. In each session, practice no less than twenty-one forceful kumbhakas with strong wind. Finally, dedicate the merit. The signs of accomplishment will appear as described earlier. Once accomplished, simply remember it once in each session, without forgetting. Do not practice excessively. In terms of application: When one knows that death is approaching and the time has come, recognize the stages of dissolution. Without attachment to possessions, offer them to the Three Jewels. As in the practice of transference, repeatedly visualize the object clearly. When approaching death, adopt the posture of sitting cross-legged, or the seven features of Vairochana, or the lion posture, or with the help of friends, etc., in whatever posture is comfortable, clearly visualize one's body as the yidam, with the central channel and bindus within. At a distance of one fathom above the crown of the head, visualize the root guru, the embodiment of the Three Jewels,

Meditate on yourself as the form of the Yidam. Pray and make offerings, transforming death into the path. Receive the four empowerments. In the state of clarity where you do not gather yourself, With the life-force breath, draw it upwards very forcefully, reciting eleven powerful AH HIKTRAS (藏文:ཨ་ཧིཀྲ,梵文天城体:अ:,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿,藏文:ཧི,梵文天城体:हि,梵文罗马拟音:hi,汉语字面意思:嘿,藏文:ཀྲ,梵文天城体:कृ,梵文罗马拟音:kṛ,汉语字面意思:克日), forcefully transferring it upwards from the navel chakra, dissolving it into the HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) at the heart. Immediately, with the breath-force and eleven powerful AH HIKTRAS, the breath greatly stirs and reaches the throat. Again, reciting the breath and five powerful AH HIKTRAS, as soon as it touches the KSHA (藏文:ཀྵ,梵文天城体:क्ष,梵文罗马拟音:kṣa,汉语字面意思:恰) at the crown of the head, visualize the KSHA as clear without inherent existence, and the HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) emerges from the Brahma aperture. Again, reciting the breath and many powerful AH HIKTRAS, visualize the HUNG (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हूँ,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) going like a shooting star, dissolving into the heart of the Yidam, and transfer with the breath and powerful and numerous AH HIKTRAS. If you cannot do it yourself, have a friend recite powerful and numerous AH HIKTRAS, and you yourself strive to focus on the breath. It is crucial not to look back at the body. Once the transfer is complete, rest in the state of the Great Seal, where the Guru's heart and your own mind are inseparable. If you are transferring for others, apply the same method, combined with the essential points of the oral instructions. This method, even without practice, is a swift path for those of the three faculties—superior, middling, and inferior—to attain Buddhahood in the three Kayas, and is called the Powa instruction for attaining Buddhahood without practice. Sixth, the Bardo instruction for severing the mind from the path: Having recognized the signs of death, when death approaches, without attachment or clinging, in a state of joy towards death, visualize the Guru at the crown of the head, clear as your own deity. Make offerings and pray to transform the Bardo into the path. Dissolve into yourself. When death approaches. First, recognize the dissolution of the three stages of appearance, increase, and attainment. As soon as near-attainment dissolves into clear light, immediately recognize the clear light and rest in the state of clear light. You have the freedom to stay in this state as long as you wish, so liberate in that state. If you cannot do that, then from the state of clear light, practice arising as an illusory deity body. If you cannot do that either, then practice the Bardo instructions as follows. For those superior individuals who are familiar with the clear light Great Seal in this life, the method to prevent entering the Bardo is: Recognize that you have died, and that the place, companions, body, etc., are all the Bardo state. Visualize yourself as the deity body, and with the subsequent stages of dissolution, or with the practice of holding the essence, rest in the state of the clear light emptiness Great Seal, and thus you will prevent entering the womb.
