In the time before a dream arises at night, recognize the clear light of sleep, empty, without beginning or end, like the sky, without any tangible form, a state of utter clarity. Then the Lama said: "I pull the thread like this, guiding it with a stick. If you catch the clear light, meditate on that very instant. If you don't catch it, meditate repeatedly, and don't give up. If you do catch it, the external sign will be that your senses become sharp and clear, not dull. If you don't catch it, pull the rope as taut as a golden peg, and strike it with a precious hammer. This will not wake you up; it's a clear instruction of the key point." Fourth, introducing the wisdom of samadhi: there are two ways, either recognizing it all at once, or gradually relying on rituals and combining them with experience. The first is: clear light will occur unexpectedly all at once, so you should generate faith in it. The gradual method of introduction is: first, as you fall asleep, in an ordinary state, focus your awareness on 'A,' and the gross thoughts of objects will dissolve, thus recognizing the appearance of emptiness. As you become drowsy, focus on 'Nu,' and all subtle thoughts of objects will dissolve, resulting in expansion and extreme emptiness. As you become even more drowsy, focus on 'Ta,' and the most subtle thoughts will dissolve, resulting in attainment and great emptiness. When you are very drowsy, focus on 'Ra,' and all thoughts will dissolve, resulting in near attainment and all emptiness. As drowsiness passes, focus on (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), and all eighty aspects of inherent nature will dissolve, thus recognizing the great clear light. Alternatively, as you become drowsy, forty thoughts of desire cease. As you become more drowsy, thirty-three thoughts of anger cease. As you become very drowsy, seven thoughts of delusion cease, and the meaning of the clear light Dharmakaya will dawn. Then, after waking up, mix day and night, and meditate continuously without interruption. The methods for removing obstacles to the clear light can be learned from the oral instructions. Fifth, the subsequent action is to enhance the power of the clear light: there are two types, with and without elaboration. With elaboration: in the space in front of you, visualize a blue (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) syllable, like lapis lazuli, very clear, and meditate without interruption. Then, if it arises, the (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) syllable transforms into the nature of the five families, the hook at the foot dissolves into 'Ha,' the 'Ha' dissolves into the head, the head dissolves into the crescent moon, the crescent moon dissolves into the bindu, the bindu dissolves into the nada, and then it dissolves into the clear light, without

Remain in the state of awareness. In that, regarding the fault, meditate on a blue Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,हुं,hūṃ,Hūṃ) at the heart of the deity's empty form. It dissolves into light. The empty form also becomes filled with blue. It becomes larger and larger, and remain in the state of being equal to the sky. Non-elaboration is: The various appearances of the present, like reflections in a mirror or the moon in water, are merely appearances, and one should know that there is no real existence in the nature of phenomena. In the post-meditation, arise as the previous illusory body and engage in all activities. Thus, with diligence, regardless of time, in this life or at the time of death, the realization of the ten bhūmis will arise. The oral instruction of clear light, dispelling the darkness of ignorance. Fifth, transference of consciousness, the oral instruction of the elixir that turns things into gold is: As before, one should travel the path in that way. If the time of death approaches, then perform transference of consciousness. There are two types: common and special. The common ones are: transforming stinginess into generosity, desire into discipline, hatred into patience, laziness into diligence, distraction into meditation, ignorance into wisdom, self-interest into benefiting others, and conceptual thoughts into the generation stage. The special transference of consciousness has two aspects: where to transfer to, and by what means to transfer. Where to transfer to has three: transferring to the non-elaborate dharmakāya, transferring to the elaborate rūpakāya, and transferring to the delightful city of the ḍākinīs. The methods of transference have three: the best is transferring to clear light, the intermediate is transferring to the illusory body, and the lowest is transferring through the generation stage. The first has two: natural clear light and meditative clear light. Transferring to natural clear light is: For all sentient beings, at the time of death, when the external breath has ceased and the internal breath has not yet ceased, clear light arises. Recognize it and remain unscattered upon it, merging with the clear light of the path, thereby attaining buddhahood in the dharmakāya. For this, one needs to have grasped the clear light of sleep now. If one is not familiar with that, then transferring to meditative clear light is: At the time of death, make the body posture as comfortable as possible. Recognize the unborn clear light, and do not be distracted from it even for a moment. During the time of long and short breaths, make the sound Ha (ཧ་,ह,ha,Ha), mix awareness with the sky and release it. Thereby attaining buddhahood in the dharmakāya. Second, transferring to the illusory body has two types: natural illusory body and meditative illusory body. The first is: Before
