There is no mantra, and there is no deity. It arises from Hevajra. This is the teaching of the stages of enlightenment. The meaning is: As stated before, if one realizes Suchness, being liberated from the grasped and the grasper, no realm or possessor of a realm will cause death. Therefore, without straying from the state of Suchness, there is no need to remedy or meditate by artificially creating states of being in equipoise or not in equipoise. Abiding in the yoga of the continuous stream of wisdom free from non-equipoise is said to be the supreme of all conduct. Thus, by means of the three—essence being self-liberated, characteristics being of equal taste, and ultimately being without distinction—the practice of Mahamudra is established as self-arising and self-liberating. Fourth, the result, Mahamudra, has three aspects. First, the meaning of the spontaneously liberated Mahamudra of appearance and existence is explained. In this, nothing is established, Appearances self-liberate into the Dharmadhatu, Thoughts self-liberate into great wisdom, Non-duality is equality, the Dharmakaya. As it is said in the Manifestation of the Sow: Abide in the place where there is no appearance, Rely correctly on that which is without appearance, For all phenomena without action, There is neither thing nor suchness. Interdependent origination is a phenomenon like space, Without substance and without characteristics. From the Ghuyasamaja Tantra: Unborn and unseen, Indivisible, like the sky, The nature of profound peace, This is the teaching of the stages of enlightenment. Therefore, in this state of Mahamudra, in ultimate truth, no elaborative characteristic is established. Because external objects are unborn, appearances self-liberate and arise in the Dharmadhatu. Because internal consciousness is unseen, thoughts self-liberate and perfect into great wisdom. Because the secret of grasping and being grasped is non-dual, beyond mind, and expands into great equality, the Dharmakaya, which is profound, peaceful, and free from elaboration, is manifested. Second, the meaning of Mahamudra, in which samsara and nirvana are inseparable, is explained. Like the continuous flow of a great river, However one acts, it is meaningful. This is always Buddhahood, Samsara is without a place, great bliss. As it is said in the Two Examinations: This is called samsara, This itself is nirvana. Apart from abandoning samsara, Nirvana cannot be realized. From the Conjunction Tantra: Abandoning the clinging to self and other, That wisdom of one's own awareness, The supreme nature of existence and non-existence, The union equal to space, the dust.

and devoid. Attachment and detachment are mixed, method and wisdom are extremely mixed. That itself is the life of all living beings. That itself is the immutable holy one. That itself pervades everything. That is the wisdom of the Buddha. It is called glorious Heruka. This, that, and others as well, existence and non-existence arise from this. Furthermore, it is said: It is the name of the accumulation of many sufferings. There is nothing else besides this. It becomes the cause of the arising of infinite bliss. There is nowhere else to go besides that. Those who wish to completely exhaust suffering, and those who wish to attain the supreme bliss of the perfect Buddha, should make their minds firm and practice diligently. Its nature should be made into non-things. As long as the thick curtain of the darkness of conceptual thought obscures the minds of beings, there will be endless suffering. As long as it is separated from that, there will be great bliss, without difference. Reaching the ultimate of all equality, pleasing the noble ones, for the sake of its exhaustion, one's own actions also, are vast, and one should observe one's own behavior with this. The meaning is: The yogi who realizes the suchness of Mahamudra is like a great river flowing continuously. Because he constantly abides in equality, whatever he does is meaningful. This is because it is always inseparable from the intention of all Buddhas. Samsara is nowhere, Nirvana is great bliss, and the fruit of the inseparability of Samsara and Nirvana is manifested. Thirdly, the meaning of the ultimate Mahamudra is explained. All dharmas are empty of their own nature. The mind that grasps emptiness ceases in its own place. Without mind, without intention, this is the path of all Buddhas. As it is said: In the Samputa Tantra, it says: One should not meditate on emptiness, nor should one meditate on non-emptiness. The yogi does not abandon emptiness, nor does he completely abandon non-emptiness. From grasping emptiness and non-emptiness, many conceptual thoughts will arise. In the Vinayasamuccaya, it says: After being without mind, make intention, do not think even a little. Having settled on the seat, rely on the kindness of the lama to truly unite. Just as space and sky are the same, the mind should be meditated on as having the same taste. By holding onto meditation, one will surely be liberated. Completely abandon the union of speculation. Thus, with that mind, to the mindlessness
