One, in the Great Seal that cannot be conceived by the mind, Since there is not even a particle to meditate upon, one does not meditate. In the meaning of no meditation, the best is to meditate without separation. The taste of the great bliss of co-emergent non-duality, Like water placed in water, the taste is one. When abiding in such a natural state, The grasping mind will become utterly pacified. Alas! In that non-dual, primordial nature, What is there to abandon or adopt? Since I have neither grasped nor abandoned all phenomena, I do not say, "Child, do this." Just as a jewel has no inherent existence, So too, the yogi's awareness has no fixed characteristic. Whatever rambling, nonsensical things are said, The yogi's mind is only happy with one. In the one itself, there is no existence of the one itself, Therefore, various appearances are devoid of root. Like a madman, without regard, Actionless conduct abides like a young child. The lotus of existence, born in the mud of samsara, the mind of the bumblebee, Is not stained by any fault whatsoever. Eating and drinking, giving and receiving are bliss, Even if the body and mind are extremely tormented, Whatever one engages in, One is not bound, liberated, or stained by anything. From the state of realization, Conducting oneself without regard, When ignorant beings themselves become manifest, Tears flow from the force of unbearable compassion. Abandoning the clinging to self and others, one engages only in benefiting. If examined closely, it is free from the three objects of focus, Like an unreal phenomenon, like a dream, like an illusion. Without attachment or obstruction, one is joyful and without fault, Like a skilled magician performing the deeds of illusion. Alas! In the nature of space, primordially pure, There is nothing to abandon or attain. In the mind, the actionless Great Seal, Do not hope for any result whatsoever. Since the mind of hope is primordially unborn, What is there to abandon or attain? If there were anything to be attained, What would be the use of the four mindfulness seals? Just as a thirsty deer, Runs eagerly towards the water of a mirage, Any ignorant person, tormented by desire, No matter how hard they try, they will only grow further away. Since it is primordially unborn, its nature is utterly pure, There is not the slightest difference from that. Since the discriminating mind is purified in the expanse, It is merely labeled as Vajradhara. Like sand

Like a mirage in a dry land, appearing as water but water is not truly there, abandoning the mind that clings to purification through endurance, it cannot be described in terms of permanence or annihilation. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel and a wish-fulfilling tree, fulfilling all hopes through the power of aspiration, but this is merely a conventional truth in the mundane world, in the ultimate truth, there is nothing at all. The "Treasury of Dohas: The Quintessence of the Meaning of Mahamudra," composed by the venerable Shavari, Lord of Solitary Retreats, is complete. Translated by the Indian Abbot Shri Vairocana himself. This very essence of Mahamudra, the heart-essence of the yogi, the glorious Shavari, has been practiced by the venerable forefathers who held the lineage of Raschung Nyen Gyu, and they have composed commentaries and summaries accordingly. Homage! The Mahamudra Ganga of the Great Accomplisher Tilopa, with chapter divisions and commentary, is presented. In Sanskrit: Mahamudra Upadesha (महामुद्रा उपदेश, Mahāmudrā Upadeśa, Instruction on Mahamudra). In Tibetan: The Quintessence of Mahamudra. Homage to glorious Vajra Dakini! Practicing austerity and respecting the Guru, Naropa, enduring suffering and possessing wisdom, fortunate one, apply your mind in this way. Although Mahamudra cannot be shown, like the sky, what does it rely on? The mind itself relies on Mahamudra, without an object. Relax in the uncreated, natural state. If you loosen the bonds, there is no doubt that you will be liberated. For example, if you gaze into the center of the sky, seeing ceases. Similarly, if the mind looks at the mind, the collection of thoughts ceases, and you attain unsurpassed enlightenment. For example, earth vapor rises as clouds into the expanse of the sky, not coming from anywhere, nor staying anywhere. Similarly, the collection of thoughts arising from the mind, seeing one's own mind, the waves of thought are calmed. For example, the nature of the sky transcends color and shape, not being stained by black and white, nor changing. Similarly, the essence of one's own mind transcends color and shape, not being stained by virtuous or non-virtuous black and white dharmas. For example, the essence of the clear and pure sun is not obscured by the darkness of a thousand eons. Similarly, the luminous essence of one's own mind cannot be obscured by samsara. For example, although one may conceptualize emptiness,
