Vomiting, suffering from being killed for impermanent hair, bones, and skin. Wild animals, etc., that do not rely on humans have no fixed abode. For the sake of meat, they are shot with arrows by hunters and bitten by dogs, jumping into dangerous places such as cliffs. They are beaten with weapons and flee, but are eventually caught and killed, etc. Thinking of these things, I feel pain. Thinking of the general stupidity of animals and the individual suffering, I think I must do a pure Dharma. Second, thinking about the suffering of change, like gods, with the power of previous karma, palaces, clothes, food, etc., appear as soon as they are thought of, and the happiness of goddesses, etc., is boundless. However, when the five signs of death and the near five signs of death, etc., appear, the mental suffering is greater than the suffering of hell. Even the lord like Indra will be reborn among humans as slaves, etc. The sons of gods, like the sun and the moon, who were able to illuminate the four continents with the light of their palaces, are born in the darkness of the continents, unable to see even the stretching and contracting of their arms, and suffer. Even if they become universal monarchs, they will eventually become slaves of samsara. Like humans, they become weak when they were strong, the rich become poor, and even if there are many people, they will eventually be cut off. Meeting enemies or worrying about meeting them, separating from loved ones or worrying about separating from them, not getting what they want, hopes without results, etc., unimaginable suffering. The Asuras also fight each other, attacking each other with weapons, limbs are cut off, they are naturally very hateful, and they are jealous of the glory of the gods, and the suffering of their hearts is unimaginable. Third, the pervasive suffering of conditioning, the karma of people is boundless, no matter how much they do, they can't finish it, and what they do is in vain. They think they should do this and that, and their lives are exhausted in calculations. They have to face death without completing their karma, and they are very painful because their wishes have not been fulfilled. Those who have property are robbed by thieves, robbed by powerful people, etc., and suffer.

Suffering. The poor suffer greatly from exhaustion in seeking medical treatment. In short, no matter where one is born in the three realms or the six realms of samsara, one cannot escape the nature of suffering. In order to avoid experiencing this suffering, one should practice pure Dharma. Second, contemplate the law of cause and effect: Being born into the suffering-filled cycle of existence, as mentioned above, also arises from engaging in non-virtuous actions. To abandon suffering, one must abandon its cause. In brief, abandon all non-virtuous actions and strive to accomplish as much virtue as possible. One should meditate in this way. To explain this in a little more detail, there are three aspects: contemplating non-virtuous actions, contemplating virtuous actions, and contemplating neutral actions. First, there are three aspects: contemplating the nature of the action, contemplating its result, and the advice to abandon it. First, there are ten: Driven by any of the three poisons of attachment, aversion, and ignorance, intentionally killing any living being from ants to humans or beings greater than humans is killing. Taking what is not given, even something as small as a grain, that belongs to another. Engaging in sexual misconduct with someone other than one's own wife, whom one has married with payment, such as another person's wife, or those who hold the banner of Dharma, such as nuns, or those who observe a one-day vow, or those protected by parents, etc., or even engaging in sexual activity with one's own wife during the day. These are the three non-virtuous actions of the body. Driven by afflictions such as attachment, changing one's perception in order to deceive others, speaking words and meanings that are misunderstood by others is lying. Speaking words that cause discord in order to separate others is divisive speech. Driven by afflictions such as hatred, speaking harsh words that offend others, whether or not they are in accordance with reality, is harsh speech. Speaking many meaningless words that do not conform to reality, thereby hindering one's own and others' virtuous deeds, etc., is idle talk. These are the four non-virtuous actions of speech. Driven by attachment, thinking, "If only the wealth and power of others could be used by me," coveting the perfect qualities of others is covetousness.
