One should meditate in this way. Second, contemplate that there is no certainty when death will come: some die in the mother's womb, some die immediately after birth, and so on. Thus, death manifests without certainty of age. Therefore, one should contemplate and meditate on the fact that there is no certainty when death will come. Third, when the time of death arrives, no matter how strong or powerful, no matter how many retinue and possessions one has, no matter how brave, one cannot avert death, one must certainly die. At the time of death, nothing other than Dharma will help. Therefore, by practicing Dharma as long as one lives, one will not regret it at the time of death, and one will have the confidence to be reborn in a good realm, thus one will be at ease. Therefore, one must practice the supreme Dharma. Moreover, since one does not know when one will die, one must quickly practice Dharma, one should meditate in this way. Second, if one is attached to samsara, one will not have renunciation. This means that if one is attached to the three realms of samsara, even if one practices Dharma, one will not go on the path to enlightenment. Therefore, one must not be attached to samsara. For this reason, the faults of samsara are explained, so that one sees that the entire nature of samsara is suffering, and one desires to abandon samsara and seek liberation, and such a mind arises. In order to generate such realization, the faults of samsara are explained. Moreover, rebirth in samsara arises from not knowing what to adopt and abandon in terms of karma and its results, and from freely engaging in non-virtuous deeds. Therefore, in order to know what to adopt and abandon in terms of karma and its results, one must contemplate karma and its results, this is the second point. The first point is, the sutra says: "The desire realm is full of faults, the form realm is also full of faults, the formless realm is also full of faults, only nirvana is seen as faultless." Therefore, no matter where one is born in the three realms, it is full of faults. Regarding this, the Sutra on the Establishment of Mindfulness explains in detail: "Sentient beings in hell are tormented by the fires of hell, hungry ghosts are tormented by hunger and thirst, animals devour each other, humans are weakened by short lives, gods are ruined by carelessness. Even as small as the tip of a needle, there is never happiness in samsara." Therefore, in those three realms, no matter which of the six realms one is born into, it is of the nature of suffering, and whatever one enjoys is only the enjoyment of suffering. Therefore, in order to be liberated from that, one must purely practice the Dharma that leads to the path of enlightenment.

One should contemplate in this way. To explain it briefly, there are three types of suffering to contemplate: the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the pervasive suffering of conditioning. The first of these is to contemplate the suffering of the hells, the suffering of the hungry ghosts, and the suffering of the animals, of which there are three. The first of these is to contemplate the suffering of the cold hells, the suffering of the hot hells, and the suffering of the neighboring hells, of which there are three. The first of these has eight: The Blister Hell is born in the snowy mountains where there is no sun or shelter, and in hailstorms and the like. Because the extremely cold wind strikes the body, the whole body becomes blistered due to the cold. The measure of life is also from the Treasury: "A hundred years to extract a sesame seed from a sesame store, that is the life of the Blister Hell, the life of others is doubled." It is said. Even more than that, because of the cold, the blisters burst, and pus and blood flow out, which is the Blister Bursting Hell. Even more than that, because of the cold, it is extremely painful, and the sound of "Achu" is uttered, which is called the Achu Hell. Even more than that, because of the cold, there is suffering and no ability to shout loudly, but only a faint sound of "Kyihud, Kyihud" is uttered from the throat, which is called the Kyihud Hell. Even more than that, because of the extreme cold, there is no power to utter any loud or soft sound, and the whole body is extremely frozen and curled up, which is called the Sothamthampa Hell. Even more than that, the skin turns blue and cracks into eight pieces, etc., because it is struck by the extremely cold and powerful wind, which is like the Utpala The blue skin also rots and peels off from the wind, and the body turns red and cracks into many pieces, which is like the Lotus Hell. Again, because of the cold, it is extremely cold, and the whole body inside and out becomes like a stone, and cracks into sixteen pieces, etc. Because of the cracking of the outer body, the intestines, large and small intestines, cecum, etc. also crack into pieces, which is like the Great Lotus Hell. Remembering these sufferings, contemplate them again and again. The second also has eight, called the Reviving Hell. Due to the power of karma,
