The three are: meditating on equality of self and others, meditating on exchange of self and others, and training in their conduct. First, just as one wants to abandon one's own suffering, one should also abandon the suffering of sentient beings; just as one wants to accomplish one's own happiness, one should also establish sentient beings in happiness, and so on. Second, meditating on exchange: may all the karma and non-virtue of all sentient beings ripen upon me; by giving my body, possessions, and all virtues to sentient beings, may all sentient beings equal to the extent of space attain happiness, think like this. Third, therefore, thinking of giving one's body, possessions, and all virtues to sentient beings, and in whatever way possible, one should train in all the practices of a Bodhisattva. Meditating on ascertainment that uncommon experiences will arise: Having entered the profound path of Vajrayana, inconceivable experiences will arise. There is no reason to rejoice in those favorable aspects. Even if many unfavorable aspects arise, there is no reason to be displeased. Because, relying on the connection of one's own channels, channel letters, element amrita, essence wisdom wind being controlled by the mind, various experiences will arise. Such inconceivable experiences, when summarized, are included in fifteen: three paths, three heats, three interdependent originations, three experiences, and three samadhis. These fifteen are also included in a single samadhi, so before experience arises, one should cut off elaboration on experience. Once experience arises, one should recognize, "This is a body experience, this is a mind experience," and so forth, and let it develop naturally. Meditating on pure appearance: Remembering the inexhaustible body, the wheel of ornaments, and so forth, and meditating on the inconceivable qualities of the Buddha, and repeatedly thinking, "I will attain such a result," thereby cultivating special joy. The section on binding the three appearances has been explained. Immediately following that, one should bind with the three continuums, which are: cause, the nature of reality, the way of abiding in samsara; path, the way of meditating; fruit, the state of Buddhahood. The first is:

This is not discussed here, as it has already been shown as an impure appearance. There are three paths: first, abiding in the root vows; second, how to guide disciples; and third, generating special conviction, recognizing samadhi, and properly establishing the stages of the path. First, the twenty root vows should be kept, as it is the root of all paths and the main path for those of middling capacity. Abiding in empowerment and vows is the basis of all paths. By abiding in this, all disciples can be guided. Second, there are three ways to guide: in order to cut off the proliferation of views, meditate on the ground of all, cause, lineage, samsara, and nirvana as being inseparable; in order to generate the experience of the path, meditate on the body, means, and lineage; and the way in which the five kayas of the result manifest. The first also has three: through the door of the three co-emergent dharmas, briefly explain the view of the inseparability of samsara and nirvana; explain in detail through the door of the three dharmas to be practiced; and explain very extensively through the door of the three lineages. The first is: when guiding a disciple, supplicate the lama and have them engage in intense devotion and respect for several days. Then, when they are recognized, all dharmas are gathered into the mind, and generate conviction that there are no dharmas other than the mind. First, recognize clarity, then recognize emptiness. The Buddha himself would not separate these two, clarity and emptiness, because they are union. Introduce it in this way, and have them generate conviction and meditate repeatedly. After it arises, explain the twenty-four co-emergent dharmas, cut off proliferation, and have them cut off proliferation and meditate repeatedly. The second is: then, with eight examples of proving that all dharmas are mind, have them generate conviction that all dharmas are mind and meditate repeatedly. This is because there is no other maker besides the mind, such as Ishvara, Vishnu, or atoms, thus cutting off proliferation. Then, with eight examples of proving that all dharmas are like illusions, have them generate conviction that all dharmas are like illusions and meditate repeatedly. This is because the mind itself is also without self, and because various results arise depending on the power of various changes of the mind itself, and various causes and conditions, therefore cutting off the proliferation of clinging to the mind. Then, when proving that illusion is without nature
