Bound by the three appearances. To be bound by impure appearances, there are three. By saying "sentient beings," examine the realm of sentient beings, understand the faults of samsara, and therefore meditate on it. By saying "appearance of afflictions," afflictions generate evil destinies, and arising from that, meditate on the difficulty of obtaining leisure. By saying "impure appearance," it arises from delusion and karma, therefore meditate on having faith in karma and its results. The first has three, meditate on the suffering of suffering, the suffering of change, and the suffering of conditioning in samsara. First, one should contemplate the suffering of the three lower realms, contemplate the suffering of the eight cold hells, eight hot hells, ephemeral hells, and neighboring hells in the hells of sentient beings, and contemplate that there is no way to be born there, and meditate in this way for an appropriate number of days. Then contemplate the suffering of change, generally contemplate the suffering of change in common, and specifically contemplate the suffering of change in humans. The first is that even if one is born as Indra, the lord of the gods, it is of no benefit, because there is a possibility of being born in the hells of sentient beings again. Even if one is born as a universal monarch, it is of no benefit, because one may be born as a slave again. Even if one is born as the sun and moon, it is of no benefit, because one will also enter darkness. And so on, whatever one obtains is of no benefit, therefore contemplate the suffering of change again. In particular, examine humans well, such as the rich becoming beggars, or the strong becoming weak, and so on, observe the people of the country and relatives, and observe the people of the kingdom, they are not the same as before, generate certainty about the suffering of change, and meditate repeatedly. Then contemplate the suffering of conditioning, there is no certainty in what has been done, one grows old and dies, but there is no preparation. Even when life passes, there is still no certainty in what has been done. These are cherished by sentient beings, wherever sentient beings are born, if one determines that there is no happiness, then whatever one does will become Dharma. Then one should meditate on the difficulty of obtaining leisure, and there are also three aspects to this: the difficulty of obtaining leisure, the great benefit, and the fact that the leisure obtained does not last long. First, contemplate the difficulty of obtaining it, the number of sentient beings who have not obtained a body is inconceivable, and even those who have obtained a body, the bodies of the six realms are inconceivable, and humans

And also think about how difficult it is to obtain a human body with leisure and endowment. There are also three great benefits: this leisure body can achieve the good destinies of the next life, it can also achieve the cessation of lower vehicles, and it can also achieve the Buddha of all-knowing wisdom, therefore, it should be thought that it is very beneficial. The leisure obtained will not last long, think that you will definitely die, think that there is no certainty when you will die, think that nothing else will help when you die. The first point has three aspects: death due to the disturbance of internal and external elements; death due to the disturbance of evil demons; death due to the disturbance of other demons such as male gods. There are also three aspects to not knowing when to die: there is no certainty in life; there are many unfavorable factors; there are few favorable factors. There are three things that cannot help with death: except for sudden causes, when the moment of death निश्चितly arrives, wealth cannot stop it, mantras cannot stop it, and dependent origination cannot stop it. Third, from the perspective of the appearance of karma, cultivate faith in cause and effect, there are three types: non-virtuous karma, virtuous karma, and neutral karma. The first type also has three aspects: thinking about non-virtuous karma, thinking about karmic results, and thinking about eliminating non-virtuous karma. The first is to carefully consider the ten non-virtuous deeds. The second is to think about the consequences of non-virtuous actions, thinking that the three evil destinies and all the unfavorable aspects of the good destinies must be produced from non-virtuous actions. The third is to think about eliminating non-virtuous actions, so think that you will not do non-virtuous actions. There are also three types of virtuous karma: cultivating virtuous karma, thinking about karmic results, and accomplishing virtuous karma. The first is to think carefully about the ten virtuous deeds and the ten perfections. Think about the results of virtuous actions, thinking that the three good destinies and all the perfections of the three good destinies are produced from virtuous actions, thinking that giving can accomplish enjoyment, etc. The third is to think about accomplishing virtuous karma, because there are such merits, so think that you will do your best to accomplish virtuous karma. There are also three types of neutral karma: thinking about neutral karma, thinking about karmic results, and turning neutral karma into virtuous karma. The first is eating and dressing without being controlled by thoughts of good and non-virtue,
