"I" is used to refer to "you." And so on, there are many such statements. For someone who has gained certainty in the view of Madhyamaka, the appearance of dependent origination is undeniable in their mind, and it is not contradictory that emptiness and the way of abiding of ultimate truth appear simultaneously. For example, when a magician transforms stones and wood into horses and cows, the magician's own eye consciousness perceives stones, wood, horses, and cows, and he is certain that they are empty, these two are not contradictory. This is what the scriptures say. There are many different interpretations of the meaning of the third line of this text. The main point is that in dissecting self-grasping, as it says in the Dissection of Self-Grasping: "If all grasping of objects of cognition collapses, then it is understood as grasping of inherent existence." Like this, it explains the grasping of true existence and the grasping of that grasping. Furthermore, in the view instruction of Chen-nga Lodro Gyaltsen, it says: "If what appears to us exists, then how will all of our own grasping and all of our aims and objectives collapse? Therefore, this reasoning that cannot destroy error is harmful and contradicts this." The eye consciousness of ordinary beings, etc., is mistaken with respect to the objects of appearance, and all of its forms, etc., are not established as they appear. If this is understood, then the meaning of the collapse of aims and the collapse of all grasping, etc., is also that the things that appear commonly to all of us ordinary beings are negated, and then we practice. And so on. The third is the characteristic of the view. Furthermore, the scriptures say: "Appearance dispels the extreme of existence, emptiness dispels the extreme of non-existence, and if one knows how emptiness appears as cause and effect, one will not be robbed by extremist views." This explains that it is not contradictory to establish the system of cause and effect and dependent origination in emptiness because all phenomena are inherently established, and furthermore, as Prasangikas, there are other uncommon characteristics, for example: A sprout, is the subject of debate, is not inherently established, because it is dependent origination. If one clearly states the thesis in this way, the Prasangika must give an answer of acceptance. Therefore, the "dependent origination" in the reason "because it is dependent origination" refers to relying on others, and if it must rely on other companions to be established, then by that power, the sprout, which is the object of debate, can be understood as not being established from itself or from its own nature, therefore appearance is dependent origination.

Since the eternal side of the sprout existing by its own nature is eliminated, and it is specifically pointed out that "it is not established by its own nature in appearance," it can be understood that the sprout is not established by its own nature, but it is not completely unestablished. Therefore, due to the emptiness of self-established nature, the extreme of annihilation where the sprout does not exist at all is eliminated. Through the power of valid cognition, if one can well understand that the emptiness of all phenomena being self-established, the way they appear without ever deceiving in cause and effect, then one will not be able to rob the meaning of the pure Madhyamaka view previously explained because of the bad views of imputation and slander, and clinging to the extreme of annihilation. That is the meaning (of the original text). That is to say, the Svatantrika school and below (tenets) believe that appearance eliminates the extreme of non-existence, and emptiness eliminates the extreme of existence. They believe that appearance is established by its own nature. For things established by their own nature, one cannot establish the new creation of causes and conditions, nor can one establish any function of the place of dependence and the object of dependence, etc. As the Root Wisdom says: "Self-nature is not made, it does not depend on others." And "If self-nature changes, it is never reasonable." For the view of the Prasangika school, on the contrary, appearance eliminates the extreme of existence, and emptiness eliminates the extreme of non-existence. For things established by their own nature, it is not permissible to create something new that did not exist before, nor is it permissible for something that existed before to suddenly disappear, and it is not permissible to establish dependence on others such as causes and conditions. Because of the emptiness of self-established nature, that cause itself, because it is not the reason for being self-established, depends on its own cause to produce the effect, and the way it becomes the cause by depending on its own effect, and the effect also depends on its own cause and effect, the way it appears as both the effect and the cause, and the way it sometimes exists and sometimes suddenly disappears, if one can understand well through the power of valid cognition, then one will be liberated from the views of clinging to the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Because this reasoning of dependent origination eliminates the two extremes of permanence and annihilation at the same time, it is called the king of reasoning. As the Entering the Middle Way says: "Therefore, with dependent arising, All nets of bad views are cut." Because the key point of dependent origination was not understood, the realists believe that the earth and the sprout are self-
