There is no self-nature. There is no self-nature of the result. There is no self-nature of dependent origination. There is no self-nature of the object. There is no self-nature of the subject. All phenomena have no self-nature. There is no self-nature of things. There is no self-nature of non-things. There is no self-nature of the container. There is no self-nature of sentient beings, because they are born from causes and conditions, so they are not truly existent. And realizing that nothing is established apart from that, that itself is the samadhi of inseparable quiescence and insight, the union of appearance and emptiness, characterized by the three doors of liberation, one should generate certainty about this. Third, training in the union of quiescence and insight is to single-pointedly abide in that which is understood through investigation. That is, through investigation, conceptual elaborations are cut off, and from the side of the object itself, one enters the inconceivable, free from all extremes of elaboration. At that time, the subject, the investigator itself, is also free from all thought and expression, like fire ceasing when fuel is exhausted. All activities of the mind dissolve into the naturally pure state of primordial nature, and in the inconceivable reality, all elaborations of mind and mental factors are pacified, which is the ultimate abiding meditation. When entering into such samadhi, one should possess the undistorted key points of body, speech, and mind, and in the state of non-conceptual equipoise, first tighten completely, then loosen, and finally abide while maintaining the natural state. Afterwards, one should meditate by making the wisdom of individual discernment, the selflessness of self, the path. Third, the post-meditation phase: The post-meditation practice consists of the actual practice and its branches. First, abide in reality until you do not get tired, and finally rise from the session. When engaging in activities between sessions, with the roots of virtue of the three times, such as thinking and meditating, may the two aspects of bodhicitta arise, be stable, increase, and develop in the minds of myself and all sentient beings, so that we may quickly attain great enlightenment. Thinking in this way, seal it with pure aspirations and dedications of the Great Vehicle, such as the "Bhadra-caryā-praṇidhāna." In all activities, one should also guard the yoga of emptiness and compassion, which is free from attachment to appearances, with mindfulness and awareness. The second part has two aspects: removing obstacles and enhancing favorable conditions. First, meditating single-pointedly on samadhi will cause the elements to gather and the winds to rise upwards.

Or, when obstacles of displeasure arise, visualize a white A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A) appearing in the space in front. Imagine obstacles and harms appearing like smoke and dissolving into the A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Romanization: a, Literal Chinese meaning: A), and dispel them by blowing a strong "Ha." When sick, expel the disease as vapor from the affected area through holes like a net. If mentally disturbed, take upon yourself the illnesses of all sentient beings on top of your own illness, and rest equally in a state of no inherent existence. If harmed by evil spirits, regard them as your parents, practice giving and taking (Tonglen), and rest in non-objectification. Secondly, constantly supplicating the Lama with unfeigned and intense devotion is the best of all methods for clearing obstacles, so there is no need to seek many other methods. In short, the key is not to accept or reject anything, good or bad, but to recognize its lack of inherent existence and maintain a natural state. If one with diligence and merit cultivates this profound Samadhi, one will completely cross the ocean of Samsara and be endowed with wisdom and ability. This is the section on the view instruction of Thukpa from the instructions on the Four Deities of the Kadampa. ༈ Om Svasti Siddham (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་སྭ་སྟི་སིདྡྷཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओṃ स्वस्ति सिद्धम्, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svasti siddham, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, auspicious, accomplishment). Having paid homage to the universal realm filled with degenerate times, and especially to the sole protector of the snowy mountains, the Lord of Compassion, I will unfold the yoga of gathering and clarification. Secondly, the instructions on the all-pervading compassion of Avalokiteśvara, related to the oral instructions of Jowo Kadampa and the tradition of the accomplished Kyergangpa. These are divided into three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and conclusion. First, the preliminaries are divided into two types: common and uncommon. The common preliminaries are explained according to the view instructions of Thukpa. The uncommon preliminaries have five aspects, the first of which is taking refuge: In a secluded place, sit comfortably on a cushion with the qualities of meditative practice. Visualize the ground transforming into a pure realm, and in the center, a wish-fulfilling tree with five branches. On the central branch, on a lion throne, lotus, and moon seat, resides the Lama Avalokiteśvara in the form of Khasarpani, surrounded by the lineage Lamas. On the branch in front, resides the four-armed Avalokiteśvara, surrounded by the mandala of Yidam deities. On the branch to the right, resides the Buddha. Behind, is the Dharma Jewel, in the form of a scripture. On the left, are the Sangha of the Great and Small Vehicles, and in the spaces between, reside the Dakinis and Dharma protectors. Visualize yourself and all sentient beings taking refuge with great reverence in body, speech, and mind.
