The Fourth Volume of the Instructions Treasury: A Text on the Instructions for the Four Deities of the Kadampa, Compendium of the Essence of the Sutra and Tantra Paths. The Fourth Volume of the Instructions Treasury. A Text on the Instructions for the Four Deities of the Kadampa, Compendium of the Essence of the Sutra and Tantra Paths. Herein lies the treatise entitled "A Text on the Instructions for the Four Deities of the Kadampa, Compendium of the Essence of the Sutra and Tantra Paths." Oṃ Svasti Siddham. (藏文:ཨོཾ་སྭ་སྟི་སིདྡྷཾ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ svasti siddhaṃ,汉语字面意思:Om, may there be well-being, may there be accomplishment). From the wisdom that does not abide in extremes, And the profound understanding of dependent origination, The supreme sage who shows the path to the three realms, To that supreme sage, I pay homage with reverence. The path of union of emptiness and compassion, The trail left by the victorious ones and their heirs, A concise guide to that path, I shall write according to the words of my lama. Here, in order to explain the profound view and practice instructions of the master, Shakyamuni, the lord of this teaching, one of the four heart-essence deities of the Kadampa, the lord of the teachings possessing the seven divine dharmas, the incomparable Jowo, we will discuss: the identification of the subject matter, the manner of explanation, and the actual essential instructions, in three parts. First: The victorious ones, skilled in means and endowed with compassion, have turned countless and inconceivable wheels of dharma in accordance with the faculties of those to be tamed. If all of these are gathered together, they amount to eighty-four thousand collections of dharma. These can be gathered into the two vehicles, the Great and Lesser. Within the Great Vehicle, there are the Characteristic Vehicle, which takes the cause as the path, and the Vajra Vehicle, which takes the result as the path. Although there are many ways to divide the Vajra Vehicle, according to the views of Nagarjuna and Jowo and his spiritual sons, there are five: the Sutra that Realizes Meaning, Action Tantra, Performance Tantra, Yoga Tantra, and Highest Yoga Tantra. Within Action Tantra, there are six lineages. Within the Tathagata lineage, there are many divisions such as the lineage lord, the main deity, father-mother, and so on. What is relevant in this case is a branch of the main deity of the Tathagata lineage, which is the Great Vehicle Action Tantra. Second: Among the two traditions of teaching dharma by the panditas of India, in this case, due to the connection with the glorious Atisha himself, according to the practice of the scholars of Vikramashila, we will explain through four topics: the greatness of the author, the greatness of the dharma, how to teach and listen, and the actual dharma to be taught. First, who composed this dharma? It is the jewel ornament on the crown of the five hundred panditas, the glorious Ati

Named "Lamp Lighting," with his great qualities widely known in the three realms. Second, what is the Dharma he composed like? When the venerable Atiśa entrusted the empowerment of countless deities to Dromtön Rinpoche, who was the embodiment of Avalokiteśvara, he chose four deities like wish-fulfilling jewels from Rinpoche's monastery, first of which is the teacher of this teaching, our sole refuge, Śākyamuni Buddha, this is the deity guidance sequence of Vajrasana, which is the fruition vehicle with four characteristics. Although these are explained as Kriya Tantra, it is not an independent Kriya Tantra, but the essence is Kriya Tantra, and the manifestations are mixed with the realization of the Tantra division. Thus it is said. Third, when the Dharma with greatness is taught and listened to, the teacher should also abandon the evil deeds of body, speech, and mind, and possess three qualities, and the listeners should also abandon the three faults of the vessel, the six stains, the five non-grasps, etc., and possess the qualities of four or six kinds of mindfulness, etc., so that teaching and listening can be carried out, and it is very important to explain in detail if possible at this time. Fourth, the content to be explained will appear immediately. Third, the main point of actual practice is to ripen the continuum, and the first of the two stages of ripening and liberation: to receive the permission of body, speech, and mind well. Second, the sequence of liberation guidance is divided into three parts: preliminary, main, and subsequent practices. The first part is divided into common and uncommon preliminaries. The common preliminaries are divided into the stages of the path of the three types of individuals, and the method of applying it to the four ways of turning the mind. The first of these is: In general, the arising of the realization of the path of the three types of individuals and all the qualities of white Dharma, like a mother who gives birth to children, the qualified virtuous friend who is indispensable, first of all, rely on him properly, generate faith in karma and its results, fear the suffering of the lower realms to be experienced in the future life, and accumulate virtuous deeds that are conducive to fortune, such as guarding the precepts, etc., and use them for the fruit of human and divine happiness, this is the path of the inferior individual. The three realms
