From him it was passed to GLang-thang-pa and Sha-bo-sgang-pa. GLang-thang-pa passed it to Zhang-zhung and Lu-gur. Those two later passed it to Jo-bo (Atisha). Jo-bo passed it to Lung-nang-pa Abbot Rinpoche. He passed it to Instructor Brag-ston Shes-rab-rin-chen. The master of the teachings, Instructor Gzhon-nu-bsam-gtan. He passed it to Buddha-ratna. He passed it to Kīrtti-śīla. He passed it to Rgyal-ba'i-mtshan. He passed it to Puṇye-ratna. He passed it to Gzhon-nu-rgyal-mchog. Up to here is the lineage of lamas. They all attained accomplishment through relying on this Dharma. Extraordinary realizations arose, it is said. The Great Vehicle Mind Training, in general, is spoken of in all the teachings of the Tripitaka. In particular, in the chapter on meditation in Engaging in the Bodhisattva's Deeds, it says: "Knowing oneself to be flawed and others to be an ocean of good qualities, one should completely abandon self-grasping and cultivate taking on others." It is said. To condense the meaning of those verses into a whole, in general, the cause of wandering in samsara, the eighty-four thousand afflictions, if gathered together, are the six root afflictions and the twenty secondary afflictions, and the root of these is self-grasping. Grasping as "I" something that has no inherent existence, and holding onto it, the virtuous actions of this life turn into non-virtuous actions, and non-virtuous actions turn into suffering, because one grasps oneself. From then on, if this self-grasping is not abandoned, one will continue to wander in the same way, and one will be plunged into suffering in the three times of past, future, and present. Do not doubt that it is the demon of self-cherishing, the "I" and "mine." It is because one grasps onto it. There is not one of the things seen, heard, and thought that has not been put into practice, because nothing of the old habits of samsara has been long gone, so now one should think, "Wherever it is good, put it there; wherever it is good, throw it there," and then abandon oneself and others, relax, and let go. Let go of everything at once. Sentient beings in general are not other than one's own parents and relatives, so one should take away the sins of sentient beings at the time of the cause and the suffering at the time of the result, like scraping leather with a knife, and then contemplate that these ripen on one's own body. Give one's own happiness and virtue to sentient beings.

And think. Meditate on those two back and forth. Also, with acceptance in mind, dedicate the roots of virtue of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to ripen on sentient beings. It is said that one such understanding is the meaning of what is called "Mahayana Mind Training." The Abbot said that mind training means to belittle oneself and respect sentient beings. Belittling oneself is because this self-cherishing demon is the one who has been causing suffering since beginningless samsara, so even if it is to be destroyed, destroy this root. It is said that it involves many meanings. Meditating on respecting sentient beings is because none of these sentient beings in the three realms of samsara will not become relatives. Because they are all kind parents, respect sentient beings, and benefit them without sparing the labor of body, speech, and mind. Mind Training Based on Food. Also, if you practice the instructions of Geshe Tonpa, in order to perfect the accumulation of merit of the benefactor, or in order to digest the food of faith of others, you should do the mind training based on food. Attain Buddhahood for the benefit of sentient beings. In particular, there are eighty-four thousand kinds of insects in one's own body, so think that now they are gathered with miscellaneous things, and in the future they will be gathered with Dharma. When swallowing food into the stomach, meditate that all the sins of sentient beings at the time of cause and the suffering at the time of result ripen completely on this body of oneself, like shaving leather with a razor. When exhaling, meditate on dedicating one's own happiness and virtue to sentient beings. Meditate on those two back and forth. Also, with acceptance in mind, dedicate all the roots of virtue of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to ripen on sentient beings. In this way, meditate that sentient beings are free from the sins of the time of cause and the suffering of the time of result. Generate the supreme Bodhicitta, perfect the two accumulations, and attain Buddhahood. Again, meditate on being free from the sins of the time of cause and the suffering of the time of result, generating the supreme Bodhicitta, perfecting the two accumulations, and becoming the unmoving Bhagavan, standing upright. Then, meditate that from the state of self-nature, the unmoving Bhagavan, the wisdom hero, a complete image, comes to the crown of the head. Generate faith in this through the gate of mind.
