May I be blessed to bestow all the fruits of my ripening Bodhicitta upon all sentient beings. Thus, combine and purify with the Four Truths. After doing these and other virtuous deeds, recite the eight-verse prayer. Reciting this prayer plants the habit of Bodhicitta. Such roots of virtue should be spent in all months and years, at all times. In future lives, may I meet such virtuous friends, and may I meet such companions. Think thus and pray again and again. For now, it is complete. The commentary on the eight verses of Bodhisattva Langtangpa is that this root commentary written by the explainer Kawa Yeshe Dorje is a profound instruction for mind training. Strive for this, may it arise in your own mindstream. The story of the ugly-looking Acharya is that in India, among the beggars, there was an Acharya living behind a door who, when bathwater was spilled, would say "Soso." At that time, a debate with heretics arose, and others could not refute it. There, the one who could not bathe said, "The Acharya behind the door, because bathwater was spilled, says 'Soso,'" and after saying that, he called him, refuted the debate, and said that no one knows who has merit within. A couple was robbed, and without noticing, they thought that the thief would not come up the ladder now, so they let down their guard, and later that night they were robbed even more. King Asanga had a bad-character Acharya constantly attending Jowo (referring to Atisha), and (others) said not to associate with such a person, (Jowo) said that relying on this person, the merit of patience is perfected. Langtangpa had an initial fault occur. Even without relying on him, he made a hundred offerings of tea and offerings, etc., in Ra Treng (place name), and then entered meditation. This is the peg of the eight verses. Edze Chenpo said: Respect for the place of refuge is the support of the path, Holding pure vows is the basis of the path, Thinking that this life is without leisure is the essence of the path, Unknowingly accepting defeat is the behavior of a practitioner. Thus it is said. From the Madhyamaka Reasoning Fire: Even a householder Bodhisattva who enjoys pleasures, Should be bowed to by the ordained. Thus it is said. From the Sutra of the Garland of Seats: In the future final age,

At that time, I appear in the form of letters. Thus it is said. In a forest, if wild animals and predators live close together, it is like killing the life of the wild animals. If monks and women live close together, it is certain to cut off the lifeblood of liberation. Jowo said: If a monk who sees the truth in half a month associates with someone who has broken their vows, then in that life he will not see the truth. Therefore, one should stay far away from those who have broken their vows and from women. May the benefit of beings arise greatly! Relying on this profound Mahayana Dharma, with pure higher intention, may the Bodhicitta of exchanging self and others, unfeigned, arise in the continuum! Gonpo Serlingpa, I prostrate and take refuge in the lineage of the precious Lama, father and sons, and request blessings. Before the master of wisdom and compassion, Gonpo Serlingpa, Jowo, my son, in the degenerate age, to benefit others, if you integrate all the scriptures, Vinaya, Abhidharma, and the oral instructions of the Lama, and practice them on one seat, then you need these Dharmas that will not be obstructed by all adverse conditions such as diseases, harms, demonic obstacles, heretics, etc. In an instant, all conceptualizations are destroyed, and all antidotes are methods of destruction. It is necessary to tame the borderlands, and it is necessary to endure the evil deeds of evil people. It is needed in the degenerate age. The meaning of this is that whatever conceptualization arises, it must be completely destroyed. Where does it appear? In the realm of which sense? Look for what its shape and color are like. This is like a poisonous snake or a mad dog, and should not be approached. When it appears, do not be lazy with the antidote, but destroy it. The Sutra says: Desire, know your root, it arises entirely from conceptualizations. It is also said: Conceptualization is great ignorance, it is the cause of falling into the ocean of samsara. Also, in the Madhyamakavatara it says: Ordinary beings are bound by conceptualization, non-conceptual yogis are liberated, those who have perverted conceptualizations, the wise say are the fruit of cutting off. Thus, and so on, in all the Mahayana scriptures and treatises, the obstacles to achieving Bodhi.
