If, due to anger, insults and unpleasant words are spoken, do not be intolerant, but soften your mind, and do not say, "I am not wrong, he is wrong," but rather bear the loss yourself, like Langri Tangpa. No matter who encounters bad things, think, "I will be there for him." The reason is that now, striving with various methods in generosity and discipline is done to purify many sins and perfect the accumulations. Therefore, if you regard slander as a kindness, even if it cannot offset the former two, but if it can purify, your own sins must be purified. Bearing the loss yourself is because karma arises from above. Langri Tangpa said, "Rather than offering a little butter to the monks of Phenyul, it is better to regard innocent slander as a kindness, as the merit of purifying sins and perfecting accumulations is greater." Furthermore, the Bodhicharyavatara says, "Therefore, relying on intense hatred, patience arises, therefore, it (hatred) is the cause of patience, and should be revered like offering the sacred Dharma." The reason for saying this is that the merit of patience for those who uphold discipline is greater, there is no evil like hatred, and there is no asceticism like patience. And so on. This is patience that is indifferent to harm. Sixth, the patience of accepting suffering is: If the object you have helped before or thought you had great expectations for deceives or harbors resentment, regard them as a virtuous friend with a grateful mind, that is: Whoever I have helped, whoever I have placed great hope in, even if they do very unreasonable things, learn to see them as a sacred virtuous friend. The expectation is: The teacher said, "If I go to the teacher Sherab Woeser (ཤེས་རབ་འབར་ཅན།) in Kham, because he is a friend like my heart, I thought he would truly guide me." But he harbored resentment, robbed me of everything I had. He also locked me in a dark room. There, whether I had cultivated loving-kindness and compassion before or not, whether those sufferings matured me, and whether all my happiness matured there, etc., because it is clear there whether it became a lie or not, there is no need to argue, even if you calculate it in reverse, if there is no karma, it will not happen, because I.
