In short, one should learn to regard oneself as the lowest of all and to hold others in the highest esteem with utmost sincerity. Thus, wherever one may dwell, with whomever one may associate as a friend, in all circumstances, one should consider oneself inferior and sincerely respect others from the depths of one's heart. Friends include those higher than oneself, such as lamas, those equal to oneself, such as fellow practitioners, and those lower than oneself, such as beggars. In all circumstances, one should regard oneself as inferior in terms of lineage, strength of mind, and faults, and should not be proud of one's own lineage. At all times, one should not be proud of being born into a low caste such as butchers. Even having a golden appearance is not something to boast about. Even having power derived from merit should not lead to complacency. If one is proud of one's wisdom, one should know that one is ignorant of even one aspect of the five sciences, and even when listening to some teachings, one may miss or misunderstand the words and meanings, failing to truly comprehend. In terms of conduct, even if one verbally claims to be a practitioner, one has not even refrained from doing evil deeds. Even now, thoughts of the three poisons arise in the mind, and most of the actions of body and speech are impure, making it difficult to attain even a higher rebirth, let alone Nirvana, in the future. As stated in the Bodhicharyavatara: "Such is my conduct that I will not even obtain a human body. If I do not obtain a human body, what good is there, only evil?" Therefore, one should reflect on all one's faults, break the arrogance of thinking "there is no one worse than me," and learn to respect others. Respecting others means truly seeing their virtues. Whether one sees virtues of lineage, appearance, wealth, or Dharma, such as the six paramitas, one should think: "It is wonderful that someone possesses such virtues!" Furthermore, for those who do not have obvious virtues, one should think: "I do not know what virtues they have within." Therefore, the story of the ugly Acharya is told. "From the depths of the heart, from the marrow of the bones" means that this thought should not be merely lip service, but one should be willing to help others without reservation. If one thinks in this way, the noble Avalokiteshvara will say, "Well done, noble son!" The reason is that just as the ocean, because of its lowliness, gathers all the waters, all the virtues of this world and beyond arise in the mindstream of one who is without arrogance. In short.

, one should treat all beings as servants. It is said. The essence of the three baskets is also to subdue pride. If there is pride, there will be discord with others in this life, and there will be faults in the next life. Because of what ignorance is controlled by pride, one is born in evil destinies and places without leisure. Reborn in poor and lowly families, becoming blind, weak, and ugly people. Thus, the habits of afflictions become thicker and thicker, and strong afflictions arise in all inferior places, so it is more heavy, and ultimately it is impossible to obtain the ultimate Bodhi. A Bodhisattva with pride is far from Bodhi. It is said. Therefore, all the faults, declines, and sufferings of the world and beyond come from clinging to oneself as good, and all the happiness of the world and beyond comes from sentient beings, so all sentient beings should be regarded as virtuous, so as to subdue pride. Third, for the afflictions that arise now, do not let them go, but also cut them off. In all actions, examine your own mind, and as soon as afflictions arise, because they can make yourself and others unhappy, you should learn to cut them off from the root with force. This is to examine your own mind in all actions, whether greed arises or not, with mindfulness and awareness, as soon as it arises in yourself, cut it off immediately. If you want to cut it off later, it will increase, so you should completely destroy it, just like a couple encountering a thief. If you let it go, it will be impossible to clean up later. If afflictions increase in the continuum, then all such as hatred will increase day by day. The sutra says: Thus pure, and thus again, sleep is even more, thus greed is great, and attachment is also thus. It is said. If the habits of afflictions increase, then strong afflictions will arise in all inferior places, so it is more heavy, and great suffering must also be experienced. If you cut off afflictions, the habits will gradually weaken, and the previous habits will also fade away, and only weak habits will arise in good circumstances. Its karmic result is small, so it will definitely be felt. Affliction
