Generate the antidote power to view afflictions as enemies. Shantideva said: I would rather be burned and killed, or have my head cut off, but in no way should I bow down to the enemy of afflictions. Worldly enemies do not harm from life to life, but afflictions harm in all lifetimes. My enemy of afflictions, like a long time without beginning or end, other enemies cannot last as long as it. Also, if you offer offerings to worldly enemies, they will not harm you, but will help you, but if you offer offerings to afflictions, things will get worse. If you rely on and respect each other in a harmonious way, everything will bring happiness and benefit. However, serving the enemy of afflictions will only bring suffering and harm in the end. Furthermore, worldly enemies only harm the body, life, and wealth, but afflictions generate immeasurable suffering in samsara. Even if gods and non-gods all rise up against me, they cannot lead me into the hell of fire. However, this powerful enemy of afflictions, once encountered, even Mount Sumeru will be destroyed by it in an instant, leaving not a trace of ashes. Therefore, afflictions should be regarded as enemies and discarded. Even if worldly enemies escape, they may still cause harm in the future, but if afflictions are abandoned, they will not arise again, just like a seed that has been burned. The way to abandon afflictions is to abandon them through behavior, meditation, and view. For beginners, because the antidote power is weak, if afflictions arise, it is difficult to stop them, so they should be abandoned through behavior. In terms of meditation, each affliction has a corresponding antidote. Practicing any of the three types of individuals can become the antidote to all afflictions, so practicing one of them is enough. If wisdom has been determined, afflictions have no place to stand, so recognizing this is enough, and there is no need to abandon them. As it is said: Abandon afflictions with the eye of wisdom. The fourth is: For those who are inherently evil, oppressed by sin and intense suffering, cherish and learn as if they were extremely difficult to obtain. For sentient beings who are inherently evil, and those who are oppressed by sin and depravity, cherish and learn this hard-to-obtain opportunity as if encountering a precious treasure. Among them, inherently evil is...

Previously, without accumulating merit, afflictions arise involuntarily, like King Asanga. Or like a person who was given meat in a mountain pass, but because he was full, he threw away the meat along with the container, and said, "I am full." Sins refer to the five inexpiable sins, broken vows, and misappropriation of monastic property, etc. Being oppressed by intense suffering refers to being afflicted with severe leprosy, etc. One should not even look at those people with one's eyes. One should not treat them as enemies, saying, "Absolutely do not let them come near." Rather, one should feel that those who are in suffering are like people being led away by the compassionate king's executioner. Therefore, even if one sees those people acting contrary to discipline, one should say, "What will become of these beings?" and shed copious tears. Having said this, one should first respond to them with words. If they still do not listen, one should help them with food and wealth, thereby stopping them. If that is still not effective, one should control them mentally, and also guard one's actions secretly, because they are not beneficial to me, but harmful to me. For all those who are oppressed by intense suffering, some people cover their noses and walk away. Even if one does that, one should not be certain that I will not become like that. Therefore, for that kind of action, one should think of helping them with food and medicine, etc. Whatever suffering of beings there may be, May all of that ripen upon me. Thus, train the mind. Training in what is difficult to obtain and precious means that, for example, because it is difficult to encounter a jewel, one does not abandon it but takes it, and also cherishes those jewels. Those people are difficult to obtain because relying on those people will give rise to compassion, and relying on that compassion will give rise to bodhicitta. Therefore, without one's own effort, such an object for generating the Mahayana path is difficult to obtain. Why? Because compassion will not arise for the perfect qualities of noble ones and worldly beings, so bodhicitta cannot increase, therefore one cannot become a Buddha. That (Ratnavali). Apart from bodhicitta, The Buddhas have not taught other methods. Because it was said like that. Fifth, for whatever faults such as slander that happen to oneself, one should not argue, but train in taking the loss upon oneself, which means: Because of others' jealousy towards me, Being reviled and other unreasonable things, Taking the loss upon oneself and, Offering the victory to others, train. Whether one takes it upon oneself or not, others' jealousy, etc.
