It is said that the Bhagavan taught the three doors of liberation, among which the door of no aspiration refers to no longer having any desire for the entire world by practicing that all things in the world are impermanent and suffering. Here, if one can thoroughly understand and practice the principle that all compounded things are momentary arising and ceasing, continuously decaying and impermanent, then even if the World Honored One had previously obtained immeasurable Samadhi of Shamatha and Vipassana, he still had not attained the fruit of liberation. Only when one realizes the sixteen aspects of the Four Noble Truths (each of the four truths has four aspects, namely, Dukkha: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, no-self; Samudaya: cause, accumulation, arising, condition; Nirodha: cessation, tranquility, wonderful, separation; Magga: path, suchness, practice, deliverance) that are not possessed by all worldly paths, and practices them, can one attain the fruit of nectar. Therefore, practicing impermanence is also like this. Therefore, those who have merit and wisdom should understand that practicing impermanence is the core of all the Buddhas' teachings of the World Honored One, and practice accordingly. As the Sutra of Mindfulness says: Whoever's arising of death is, is the most excellent of mindfulness, relying on it is the most excellent of peace, walking away from afflictions. Remembering the fear of the Lord of Death, how can greed arise for faults? Without fault, it can also make all defilements, constantly pacified. The Tathagatas say that mindfulness is the most excellent fruit of bliss. Whoever constantly remembers the Lord of Death, should also abandon all non-virtues. Thus it is said. Gyalse Rinpoche said: The sutra says that if you practice impermanence a lot, you are making offerings to all the Buddhas. You are getting the breath of all the Buddhas. You are getting the prophecies of all the Buddhas. You are getting the blessings of all the Buddhas. It was said like that. All the sutras, treatises, and instructions say: Practicing impermanence is the highest of paths, which can abandon all attachments to the world. Especially in this day and age, there is nothing more important or more excellent than practicing impermanence. Although it has been said hundreds of times, those with little merit still do not believe it. Drogonpa said: This recollection of impermanence is very profound, so it is extremely difficult to arise in the mind. Teachers and practitioners also find it difficult. Gyalse Rinpoche said: If a non-artificial impermanent mind arises, then all non-Dharma
