The Third Volume of "Instructions Treasury". First, train the mind to open the door of Dharma for training the mind on the stages of the path to enlightenment. This is the dwelling place called "First, train the mind to open the door of Dharma for training the mind on the stages of the path to enlightenment." Namo (Tibetan). I prostrate to the Lama, Buddha, Bodhisattva, and all their retinues. Guru Buddha Bodhisattva saparivārebhyaḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:गुरु बुद्ध बोधिसत्त्व सपरिवारेभ्यः,梵文罗马拟音:guru buddha bodhisattva saparivārebhyaḥ,汉语字面意思:上师 佛 菩萨 及眷属众). Hitasu (Tibetan). May the teachings of the Buddha, the source of benefit and happiness, flourish. Kaścākara buddha deśa vardhani (藏文,梵文天城体:कश्चाकर बुद्ध देश वर्धनि,梵文罗马拟音:kaścākara buddha deśa vardhani,汉语字面意思:谁之事业 佛 土 增长). Zarahuku kuru maṃ (Tibetan). May all sentient beings be happy with great bliss. Adhitiṣṭhatu māṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:अधितिष्ठतु मां,梵文罗马拟音:adhitiṣṭhatu māṃ,汉语字面意思:请加持我). Adhitiṣṭhatu māṃ (Tibetan). Please bless me. This is called "First, train the mind to open the door of Dharma for training the mind on the stages of the path to enlightenment." I prostrate and take refuge in the immaculate lotus feet of the holy Lama, who is inseparable from all the Buddhas and their sons of the ten directions. The father of the world, with a thousand eyes, etc., the lords of the three realms rely on the lotus feet with reverence, so I respectfully bow to the Lama and the deities who have attained all goodness, and with love for those who seek the sacred Dharma, and for those who practice the Dharma from the heart, I will explain the instructions that captivate the minds of the wise, adorned with the instructions of the Sutras, Shastras, and Lamas. Bow with respect and listen with one-pointed mind. In the Jataka tales, it says: Just as a dead horse leads the way on the ground, so too do other horses follow and run on that path. Likewise, I do not like to abandon this initial path of happiness and enter a path that is not correct. Thus, if there is no mind training on the path of the Great Vehicle, which will be explained below, there is no place to rejoice in anything else, so it is as important as the initial method of mind training is indispensable, as everyone unanimously says. When explaining this which is established by all scripture, reason, and direct perception, from the mouth of the precious Lama, the essence of all the Buddhas of the three times: In this time of obtaining the precious human body of leisure and endowment, what essence should be accomplished? To that end, we

It is necessary to see clearly what the difference is between one's own thoughts and the thoughts of livestock. For livestock, there is also the thought of making them not freeze or starve, and live comfortably. If we ourselves are only like that, then there is no difference from livestock, so it is said that taking the essence is very important. And to take the essence, one must first not be attached to this life. As it is said in the Secret General Tantra: "Those who seek the next world, by making much faith, the wise enter the mandala, do not desire the fruits of happiness such as gain, fame, etc. of this life. If one is greedy for this life, then the next life is meaningless. If one is born seeking the next world, then the fruits of this life increase." When Atisha was about to pass away, the yogi Chakchim requested, "Venerable one, when you pass away, please give me ordination." The Venerable one said, "This is an evil deed, give it up." The great scholar who was proficient in the five sciences, attained samadhi and supernatural powers, and was embraced by many yidams, etc., whose merits cannot be fully described. He built many temples in India, Tibet, and Nepal, and widely propagated the Dharma. He stayed in Tibet for seventeen years, and lived a total of seventy-three years. Atisha's main disciples included the essence of the Indian pandita land, King Nayab and many others. In Tibet, there were four such as the abbot of Kutun Trumsik Monastery, the yogi Jangchup Rinchen, the yogi Sherab Dorje, the yogi Chakchim, and the yogi Chakdar Tunpa. The abbot and Jangchup Rinchen practiced near Reting Monastery. In addition, there were Lha Lama Jangchup Wo, Lochin Rinsang, Gya Tson Seng, Naktsowa, Malotsawa Gelo, Shang Yerva, Rinchen Lama, and many others. Their merits are immeasurable, and are recorded in their respective biographies. In the biography of Reting Maba, etc., it is said that Atisha and Potowa, Reting Maba were also incarnations. In the Sutra Pitaka, it is said that the incarnations of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are inconceivable. The merits of the body are immeasurable, and it is also an incarnation. If it were not so, then there could be no incarnation. When asked to explain, he said the same. Then speak in turn.
