Sometimes when asked if he was meditating, he would say the same. When asked what to do, he said: Abandon this life. He kept this in mind, and lived in the pine forest of Ra-sdreng, like a wild animal, not meeting anyone, and spent his life like that. It is said that this was the previous life of Milarepa, according to the biography of Götsangpa. A monk circumambulated the monastery. The Teacher Rinpoche said: Circumambulating the Jowo is also an attachment, it is better to practice the Dharma yourself. He thought: Is it better to prostrate? So he prostrated, and the Teacher Rinpoche said the same. Likewise, when reciting and meditating, the Teacher Rinpoche said the same. When asked what to do, the Teacher Rinpoche said three times: Abandon this life. This Teacher Rinpoche had abandoned all worldly affairs in his heart, and was invited to the gold front in Rong, and was appointed as the person in charge of the affairs of "Glorious Freedom". The Teacher Rinpoche said: This time you go, I have decided to abandon this life, but it seems impossible. So he put on a ragged old monk's robe, sometimes a coarse cloth robe, exposing both shoulders, and put the two sleeves on his left and right shoulders, sometimes he went to the pine forest, sometimes he leaned on a cane. As the teacher Nagarjuna said in the Letter to a Friend: Worldly wise men, gain and no gain, happiness and unhappiness, pleasant and unpleasant, praise and blame, these eight worldly dharmas, may you treat them equally and not take them to heart. Sometimes, I say: I seek liberation, I do not need the bondage of gain and respect. These are all complete. Sometimes just walking around, sometimes just squatting down to rest. The Teacher Rinpoche said that he himself did not need these, but to teach the followers. The former sages also recited these verses, treating the eight worldly dharmas equally. Therefore, the distinctions of happiness and unhappiness in this life, and all actions, should be abandoned like poison. The reason for this is that good and bad karma are the actions of the mind alone. The actions of body and speech themselves are unspecified. Therefore, the happiness, fame, gain, and desire for respect in this life, as well as suffering and

Unpleasant sounds and, not desiring to not obtain gains and honor, all actions are instigated and done by attachment, hatred, and ignorance. Therefore, non-virtuous actions are predominant. Thus, the farming, trade, lending, fighting, subduing enemies, protecting relatives, and all actions such as listening, contemplating, meditating, and practicing, which are instigated by that, all become the cause of samsara and the lower realms. As it is also said in the Chapter on Utterances: Mind precedes all things, mind is swift, mind is the chief. If with a very wicked mind, one speaks or acts, one obtains suffering because of that, like a wheel cutting off the head. If with a very pure mind, one speaks or acts, one obtains happiness because of that, like a shadow following behind. Thus, suffering arises from actions done with a wicked mind of the three poisons. For example, of two beggars, one angrily said: May a wheel cut off the necks of these monks. Before long, he lay down by the side of the road and his head was cut off by a chariot wheel. The other one had a pure mind towards the monks,

It was said. Geshe Dromtonpa (Dromtonpa Rinpoche) was born in northern Tar or Tsakyer. He attended Jowo Je for eighteen years. Tara prophesied that the holy being would hold the teachings. He had realization, samadhi, and endless visions of yidams, and the Lama extensively practiced the Tripitaka, starting with monks. He established Radreng Monastery. Many great disciples such as Kuche Sum appeared. The entire Kadampa tradition originated from him, and he stayed for seven years after establishing Radreng Monastery. In total, he lived for sixty-one years. Atisha asked what the result would be for those who work desiring happiness and gain in this life. He replied that the result is only that. When asked what would happen in the next life, he replied that one would fall into hell, become a hungry ghost, and become an animal. Geshe Gonpawa (Gonpawa) was one of the four great disciples. His name was Wangchuk Gyaltsen. His birthplace was Kham Rong. He lived to be seventy years old. He had endless qualities such as samadhi, miraculous powers, and unobstructed wisdom. He served as the abbot of Radreng Monastery. The four disciples of the great disciple Gonpawa were: Lama Nezurpa, Tekod Delungpa, Nyenna Mowa, and four in total. In addition, there were many disciples such as Khara Gomchung. He said: The four desired results of actions done with the mind of the eight worldly concerns are: gain and respect first, fame second, praise third, and happiness fourth. If it happens, this life has only that result, and there is no benefit for the next life. The four undesired results are the opposite of these four. If it happens, there is no benefit even in this life. Master Nagarjuna also said: Attachment, hatred, and ignorance, the actions created by these are unwholesome. Without attachment, without hatred, without ignorance, the actions created by these are wholesome. It is said in the Sutra: Jewel Cloud, the world is led by the mind, the mind cannot see the mind. Whether it is good or bad, karma is accumulated by the mind. It is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: Tigers and lions, elephants and bears, snakes and all enemies, as well as the guardians of hell, Rakshasa women and also Rakshasas, merely by binding this one mind, all these can be bound. Merely by taming this one mind, all these can be tamed. Whoever possesses the supreme lord of Dharma, the secret of this mind.
