Having abandoned attachment, as it says in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "If one is attached to sentient beings, it will completely obscure reality, and it will also destroy the mind of renunciation, eventually becoming a source of suffering. Just thinking about this will lead to chasing after this life in vain. In an instant, one becomes a friend, and in a moment, one becomes an enemy. One gets angry at things that should be joyful, and it is difficult to please ordinary people. If you say something beneficial to them, they get angry, and I also turn away from benefit. If they don't listen to these words, they will fall into the lower realms due to anger. Thus, if I rely on others, it will only lead to ruin, because they will not accomplish my benefit, nor will I accomplish their benefit, so I should stay far away from fools." As it says. In the Compendium Sutra, it says: "In any case, associating with fools who are like enemies is painful, it is better not to hear, see, or associate with fools." As it says. Dharma Lord Bu said: "The past Buddhas could not subdue them, nor could the powerful sons of the Buddhas subdue them. If you criticize them, they get angry, if you praise them, they become arrogant. If they see someone higher, they become jealous, if they are equal, they compete, if they are lower, they become arrogant, holding a rough mind. Even if you advise them with words that conform to the Dharma, they will still generate attachment and aversion. Such fools, I cannot subdue them now, so I should subdue my own mind. Saying that benefiting others is the most important thing in the Dharma is also to adapt to the faculties, inclinations, and habits of the beings to be tamed. Even if you are proficient in business, know the cause and effect of past and future lives, you are not greedy for your own benefit, but rather intend to tame the beings to be tamed. If you seek your own fame, gain, happiness, and praise, and benefit others without clairvoyance, it is like flying in the sky without wings, not only will you not be able to benefit others, but you will also become the cause of your own downfall. Saying that teaching and listening to the Dharma is to uphold the Dharma, is also to allow those who have renunciation, pure minds, rely on discipline, stay away from bad friends, and seek the truth, to be able to master the three baskets. If you gather retinues for the sake of fame and gain in this life, and teach them the Dharma even though they do not believe or want to, but do not put it into practice, it will only become a cause for increasing desire, such teaching and listening to the Dharma is also a bond of samsara." As it says. Tsangpa Gyare said: "If you want to be happy, live alone. If there is plenty of food, you don't have to share it with anyone, no matter how much there is. If there is nothing, then there is nothing, and you don't have to worry about supporting anyone, so you are happy. Even if it is cold

He said that even if hungry, it is pleasant to be alone. He didn't care about these, because it seems that all happiness and sorrow are based on wealth and possessions. For a monk, having to borrow money from one person is an extreme situation. Not having to borrow money from many people, that seems to be an extreme situation as well. Geshe Kharag said: There is no better monastery than a retinue of faith and reverence, and there is nothing worse than the leader of evil people. Do not cling to the leader of good people, seize the weaknesses of bad people! He also said: Stingy, stubborn, unhappy, selfish, it is good even without servants who increase afflictions. My attendant is diligence and wisdom, and he is never tired of accomplishing all the necessary tasks. He said. Bawo said: If someone has wealth and eloquence, those clear-headed people will listen to his instructions. If there is no ability to benefit or harm, even if favored, he will be despised. In bad times, it is difficult for the retinue to provide help. Everyone knows how to cook alone. The inseparable attendant is the hands. There is no need for hypocritical goodness, the behavior of being alone is very free. The food of asceticism is endless, and the life of being alone can be found anywhere. The clothes of being alone are always warm, and the fire of tummo is very warm deep inside. The dwelling of being alone is the best, and the ownerless hut feels comfortable. He said. Fourth, abandoning seemingly other-benefiting activities such as teaching, listening, and oral instructions. Dromgon said: If we meditators are in a situation where we are wearing tattered clothes, holding rosaries, and meditating in a hermitage with bird tracks, if we teach the Dharma to those small efforts that are definitely not helpful, even Geshe does not approve of this, I wonder if I am crazy. Tsangpa Gyare said: Expecting a harvest without sowing seeds is a hungry ghost, and expecting untimely altruism is fainting. Potowa said: Like this, completely ripening one's own continuum, the first thing to do is this. Do not make benefiting others the main task, because in the heart there is nothing more important than benefiting sentient beings. Do not directly engage with body and speech. He said. Trolos said: If you do not understand the eternal self-nature, no matter how much others entrust you, in reality you are just a hired slave, just an empty name.
