I cannot bear the torment of the king, Master, please bless me!" Having said this, the great Brahmin spoke: "Lineage is the great bondage of existence. The kingdom is an impure mire. The king is the demon's pet name. The ministers are the demon's relatives. You will surely be tormented soon. Do not stay here, go to Nālandā. There, you have a master who has been close to you since beginningless time, Named Bodhibhadra. Generate bodhicitta, listen to the Dharma, sever karmic connections. That wise one will help you." Now I am going to conquer the enemy of existence, I am going to conquer the enemy of the Lord of Death, the demon." The king of Nālandā replied: "You are the prince of the eastern Zāhor king, The lord of the earth, the righteous king, the auspicious and virtuous one. Then, the noble prince replied: In the great dharma school, glorious Nālandā, Like an ocean, a jewel island of precious gems, Paṇḍitas are like stars in the sky. The supremely praised Bodhibhadra, Prophesied by a Brahmin, is my guru. Lord of the land, please dispel obstacles. To that, the great king replied: The great hero Bodhibhadra, Like Mount Sumeru covered in snow, Unmoving, radiant, steadfast, brightly abides. Like Vaiśravaṇa enjoying wealth, He has obtained a share in the wealth of the noble ones. Please come to my palace as a guest, And enjoy listening to talks and the delight of wealth. The prince said, "Excellent!" The king, having made preparations for the reception, Offering music, went to Nālandā. In the lotus land south of it, A palace called "Samantabhadra," Is surrounded by a hundred thousand households. Inside it, the prince was invited, On a spacious throne adorned with jewels, The king himself showed great honor and respect. Then, at the temple of Nālandā, He went to the presence of Guru Bodhibhadra. As soon as he arrived at that temple, Upon seeing the guru, an unbearable, Extraordinary joy arose in his mind. The holy guru Bodhibhadra also, Having heard the news of the noble prince's arrival, Was very pleased, rose from his seat, And spoke words of dharma with pleasant speech: Has the son of the Dharma King come to this place? Is the lord of humans well in body and mind? In the land of Zahor, are dharma and wealth flourishing? Have you not grown weary on the long road? At that time, the noble prince replied: Coming here is also pleasant, in accordance with the Dharma. The road was peaceful, and today I have met you. Have you, the wise one, not grown weary of the Buddha's teachings, Through hearing, contemplation, and meditation? Thus it was said. The guru said: Excellent, I also, Spend my days and nights with the sacred Dharma. Prince, please sit and ask whatever you need. Then, the prince respectfully prostrated, And pleased the guru with precious offerings.

ད། 我以恭敬的言辞如此禀告：请听闻利益众生的上师慈悲之语。我身陷轮回无尽的泥潭，担心被欺骗大王所折磨。于是率领军队前往森林，上师战胜了敌人安住于此。我向他祈请生起菩提心之时，智者之王以慈悲垂视。前往那烂陀（Nālandā）大寺院。那里有前世就以慈悲摄受的，殊胜的上师菩提贤。他说：向他请求生起菩提心的教诲。我立刻从自己的宫殿中取出供品，今天来到了这里。现在请您以慈悲之心，赐予我诸多生起菩提心的教诲。说完之后，上师立刻坐到座位上，进入禅定，以三门加持使其堪能。之后赐予诸多生起菩提心的教诲。这些就是所开示的教诲：王子，你今生获得了有意义的成就。如果舍弃王位而不修持解脱，因业力堕入恶趣之时，必定会后悔而死。在此生获得永恒稳固地位之时，如果不付出巨大的努力，必定会失去解脱的机会。以后就无法挽回了，善男子。虽然勇敢坚强，装备精良，但当被阎罗狱卒带往来世的悬崖时，除了无力、痛苦和后悔之外，没有任何益处。王子，请听闻此法。在那烂陀的北方，有你从无始以来就已转世的王子，名为智慧布谷鸟。他一生圆满，远离散乱，不被八边蔓延的污垢所染污，拥有戒律之衣，具备无碍的神通。去到他那里，请求佛法的教诲。听闻了那位怙主的话语之后，我如同串念珠一般，从菩提贤那里前往了智慧布谷鸟贤者的住所。顶礼膜拜，献上供养，如此禀告：我从东方扎霍尔（Zāhor，孟加拉地区）而来。我是孟加拉国王的王子。从拥有金色王幢的宫殿而来。我去了那烂陀寺院。向菩提贤请求了菩提心。

Dha. I offer this request with respectful words: Please listen to the compassionate words of the Lama who benefits beings. I am trapped in the endless mire of samsara, fearing torment by the great deceiving king. So, leading an army, I went to the forest, where the Lama, victorious over enemies, resides. When I prayed to him to generate Bodhicitta, the lord of scholars looked upon me with compassion. Go to the great monastery of Nālandā. There is the noble Lama Bodhichitta Zangpo, who has been embraced by compassion from previous lives. He said: Ask him for the instructions on generating Bodhicitta. Immediately, I took offerings from my palace and arrived here today. Now, please, with your loving compassion, grant me many instructions on generating Bodhicitta. Immediately after saying this, the Lama sat on the seat, entered into Samadhi, and blessed the three doors to make them suitable. Then he gave many instructions on generating Bodhicitta. These are the instructions that were taught: Prince, you have achieved something meaningful in this life. If you renounce the kingdom and do not practice liberation, when you fall into the lower realms due to karma, you will surely regret it and die. At this time when you can seize a permanent and secure position in rebirth, if you do not exert effort with great diligence, you will surely lose the opportunity for liberation. There will be no way to recover it in the future, son of good family. Although brave and steadfast, and possessing abundant armor, when led by the executioners to the precipice of the next life, there will be no benefit other than helplessness, misery, and regret. Prince, please listen to this Dharma. In the northern direction of Nālandā, there is a prince who has been your relative since beginningless time, called Rigpai Khujug (Cuckoo of Wisdom). He has perfected his life and is secluded from distractions. He is unstained by the defilements of the eight extremes, wears the garment of morality, and possesses unobstructed clairvoyance. Go to him and ask for the Dharma instructions. Having heard the words of that protector, I went from Bodhichitta Zangpo to the presence of the wise Cuckoo of Wisdom, as if stringing beads. I prostrated, offered worship, and spoke thus: I come from the land of Zahor in the east (Bengal region). I am the prince of the king of Bengal. I come from the palace with the golden royal banner. I went to the monastery of Nālandā. I requested Bodhichitta from Bodhichitta Zangpo.
