There is no place to stay! In this vast ocean of the root of afflictions, the river of birth, old age, sickness, and death flows continuously. If you were not previously controlled by the karma of the lower realms, why not seek a perfect life now? Now, having developed a definite understanding of samsara in general, rely on the guru and practice the sacred Dharma. Upon hearing the Dharma speech of the prince, do all the people of the city also hold the kingdom with this manner of speaking? Even if they hold it, there is no doubt that they are kings of the Dharma. Otherwise, they are like relying on a highly accomplished guru, like holding the kingdom of the Shakya king. They also proclaimed the sound of "How wonderful!" They were especially fond of him, circling around and looking again and again. The daughter who was arranged to marry into a good family was happy to see him, but became sad upon hearing his words. She went to her parents and said this: The noble prince is weary of samsara. He is said to be renouncing the kingdom and going forth as a renunciate. Young Dondup is said to be abandoning his consort. It is said that he has no attachment to the assembly of attendants. Now, the parents, together with their retinue, quickly sent envoys to the king's palace. With various things that would make the prince attached, with wealth and enjoyments, they said to seize his mind. I, the daughter, urged my parents in this way. The parents, ministers, and others worked hard to make the prince happy, singing and dancing, and also gathering many girls. Just as they were about to bring him into the bridal chamber, the prince, with one hundred and thirty horsemen, wearing military attire, circled around the rocky cliffs. On one of the rocky cliffs was the Brahmin Zetarī (藏文:ཛེ་ཏཱ་རི།,梵文天城体:जेतारि,梵文罗马拟音:jetāri,汉语字面意思:胜敌者). Dressed in Brahmin attire, he was uttering poetic sounds. With pure attire, the ascetic bowed his head. He saw the one who had overcome the enemy of afflictions. Without dismounting from his horse, the prince spoke these words to that ascetic: In a solitary place, you, an ascetic with a body of austerity, live a pure life in a pure manner. Having abandoned desire and honoring the ascetic, what kind of qualities have you obtained? After saying this, the Brahmin, without even looking at the prince, intended to answer the prince in this way: Like a garden of champaka flowers blooming in the evening, even if the king were to gather the wealth of the Brahmins, being thrown into the lower realms by the power of karma, there is no essence in the long run, so I dwell here.

Dwelling here. With the conduct of cows, elephants, dogs, and pigs. Fearing to be born as worms in unclean mud. Practicing asceticism, relying on this forest with pure attire. Not seeing the essence in illusory wealth. Contemplating the afterlife, taking the righteous one as the crown of my head. When the prince heard the words of the Brahmin, To test him, he replied with words: "Practitioners are more arrogant than others. When the lord of the land comes, why not welcome him?" The great Brahmin replied with words: "Who is the lord of the land? Where do you come from? Since I have no enemies or friends, I do not know you. I have no wealth, I am happy in the forest. The enemy of this body and life is the lord of death. Since I have no arrogance, I have abandoned the hustle and bustle." Having heard the words of the Brahmin, he replied: "I come from the one with the golden banner. I have left the ranks of people and transcended the law. I have no superiors, no servants, and no need to be considerate." In response: When the lord of the land goes to the afterlife, Without a horse, without a friend, he walks alone. Without food, without clothes, he wanders alone in the bardo. Without a place to stay, without a country, without a history, the road is long. You, Prince, will also eventually depart, Therefore, I am secluded in this forest." Having said that. When the prince heard the words of the Brahmin, He dismounted and offered his three retinues to him. Respectfully joining his palms, he prayed: "Wise one, in order to examine your faults and virtues, I spoke arrogant and conceited words. In any case, during the six periods of the day and night, Thinking about the faults of samsara, I am determined to renounce, Abandoning the kingdom, wanting to attain liberation, Please, Brahmin, accept me." Having said that. The great Brahmin replied to him: "Come, do not be swayed by the wind of arrogance. Come, let me bless you as the lord of the Dharma." Having said that. The Three Jewels blessed him, and he generated bodhicitta. The prince arose and again offered the people and horses, Taking refuge and generating bodhicitta as offerings to the master. In order to perfect the prince's retinue, Having temporarily accepted them, he spoke these instructions: "Prince, do not abandon contemplation for the time being, The means of glory in this life can also become the cause of demons. Even crows and jackals act only for their own sake. Even a Pratyekabuddha can hardly attain the unsurpassed fruit.
