The song of the gods was heard by all, Everyone rejoiced and attained a vision of purity. For eighteen months in the bridal chamber, Eight mothers cared for him with reverence and offerings. Then, to the north of that palace, There was a place called Brika-mala-puri. To offer to the Sugata at that place, Father, mother, ministers, subjects, with five hundred chariots, Boys and girls adorned with beautiful attire, Surrounded by hundreds of musicians, Carrying countless precious offerings, Singing songs, they set out on the path. This lama, resembling a three-year-old, With a beautiful form, pleasing to behold, never tiring of being looked at, Adorned with divine ornaments such as head ornaments, The king offered a Pañca-lika garment. When the people saw that deity, They breathed with joy, endowed with the glory of happiness, Looking with attachment, they were said to be unwilling to part. Then, those who saw him said this: "Since your birth, a rain of flowers has fallen, The sun has spread a canopy, and sweet sounds have been heard. We longed to see you someday, Now we see you, a great and wondrous sight!" Then the holy prince spoke these words: "Who are these parents and people?" The two parents said: "These people are your subjects and retinue." The holy prince replied to them: "May these, like me, have perfect parents, With royal power, wealth, and blazing merit, Be well-created as the eldest son of a lord of men, May all be sustained by the holy Dharma!" Then, at the Kama-la monastery, Having arrived well with the retinue, The prince prostrated to the objects of refuge, And spoke this sweet praise: "I have obtained a body with leisure and fortune, a lord of men, With flawless faculties, following the Three Jewels, Always reverently taking the Three Jewels upon my head, From this day forth, please be my refuge!" Thus he spoke. Then the parents, ministers, all the subjects, And many monks heard the prince's words, They were exceedingly delighted and amazed. All unanimously made a firm vow. Then, The king, parents, and retinue, Having accumulated merit through reverence and offerings, From lifetime to lifetime, Offering to the Three Jewels and
