As soon as the hell beings were released from the iron house of non-existence, where the suffering was extremely intense, thinking that the doors on all four sides had opened, they saw a good pit like a cool shade and entered it, only to have their flesh and bones burned in the blazing fire. Thinking they were liberated from that, they entered a ditch like a flowing river, only to be pierced and tormented by worms with iron beaks in the rotting swamp. After escaping from there, they went to a pleasant plain, only to find themselves in a razor field, where their feet were chopped into pieces as soon as they were placed down, and healed as soon as they were lifted. After escaping from there, they went to a forest that looked good, only to find themselves in a sword field, where their bodies were cut into pieces by the wind, and then healed. After going on from there, they saw men or women gathered together on the top of a mountain, calling out to them, so they climbed up, only to have their bodies pierced by iron hooks, and when they reached the top, crows and vultures pecked at their brains. They saw people calling from the side of the mountain again, so they went there, only to be pierced upwards by hooks. When they embraced the place they had come from, the iron men or women turned into blazing flames, embracing them tightly and burning and devouring them. After going on from there, they saw a beautiful river flowing from afar. As soon as they jumped in, they were engulfed in ashes up to their waists, their flesh and bones were burned, and they fled, but the two banks seemed to be guarded by messengers of Yama. Having experienced such suffering many times before, they thought that they must now be liberated from there, and so they practiced with the complete three aspects of preliminary, main practice, and conclusion. This is the twenty-fifth instruction. Next is the suffering of the eight cold hells: In the midst of snow mountains, snow, and hail, in places where blizzards rage, suffering from the cold, blisters appear on the body, this is the Blister Hell. When the blisters burst and turn into wounds, this is the Burst Blister Hell. Teeth chatter from the cold, this is the Chattering Teeth Hell. Crying out "Achuchu," this is the Achuchu Hell. Making the sound "kyihud," this is the Kyihud Hell. Splitting into four like an utpala (藏文:ཨུཏྤལ་,梵文天城体:utpala,梵文罗马拟音:utpala,汉语字面意思:blue lotus), this is the Utpala-like Split Hell. Splitting into eight like a lotus, this is the Lotus-like Split Hell. Splitting into sixteen or thirty-two like a great lotus, this is the Great Lotus-like Split Hell. In the wounds that split open in this way, tiny creatures enter and devour, and the unbearable suffering of the cold...

Thinking about the way of experiencing, I thought that it is good that I was not born in such a situation this time, and I should diligently practice the Dharma, and practice it in a way that is complete with the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twenty-sixth of the guiding steps. Then there is the suffering of impermanence: being squeezed in the rocks, freezing and stiffening in the ice, being boiled in the hot springs, suffering in the cold winter water, being hot and burned in the fire, and being cut and chopped into the shape of a tree, the suffering of severed limbs, and being born as saws, doors, planes, pillars, millstones, ropes, etc., which are constantly used, and experiencing the unbearable suffering of each due to karma, and experiencing the suffering of changing day and night in iron houses, etc. Thinking about the various sufferings in the mountains and by the sea, in the snow and ice, etc., which are common to humans and other places, I thought that I must avoid being born in such a situation, and practice with the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twenty-seventh of the guiding steps. Next is the suffering of the pretas: those with external obscurations have long bodies and thin limbs, cannot hear the sound of food and drink, and are always tormented by hunger and thirst, are harmed by others, and see unpleasant things such as oceans and forests, but feel thirsty as soon as they see them. Those with internal obscurations have flames burning from their hearts and smoke billowing from their mouths. Those with both internal and external obscurations have many pretas dwelling in the body of each preta, and they suffer from seeing them eating their own blood and flesh. Thinking that I must avoid being born in such a situation, I practice with the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twenty-eighth of the guiding steps. Next is the suffering of animals: dwelling in the depths of the great ocean, and in the darkness between continents there is only food like wine dregs, devouring each other, foolish and ignorant. Scattered in the abodes of gods and humans there are also birds and wild animals, etc., suffering immeasurable suffering such as being killed, cut, beaten, oppressed, and harmed. Thinking that I must avoid being born in such a situation, I practice with the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twentieth of the guiding steps.
