Practice in this way. The nineteenth guidance instruction. Then, contemplating the lack of dependability, impermanence is: Whether in the corner of a mountain, or in the ocean, or in the realm of space, etc., no matter where one is, death cannot be stopped. One dies due to timely and untimely causes. Especially in the human realm, the threats of death are very numerous, so one should think, 'When will I die?' Practice with the three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twentieth guidance instruction. Then, contemplating the uncertainty of the arising of conditions, impermanence is: Even if there are no sudden causes of death, the Lord of Death will come like the shadow of the setting sun. Poison, weapons, fire, water, enemies, disease, demons, and even mistakes in food, clothing, behavior, etc., can become causes of death, and the causes of death are very numerous. Therefore, from the depths of one's heart, one should think, 'When will I die?' Practice with the complete three aspects of preparation, main practice, and subsequent practice. The twenty-first guidance instruction. Then, contemplating strong aspiration, impermanence is: If going elsewhere, one should think, 'Will I die this time, or will there be no chance to return here?' When walking on the road or sitting in a resting place, one should also think, 'Will I die here?' No matter where one is, one should think, 'Will I die here this time?' Whatever one does, eating, walking, sleeping, etc., whatever actions one performs, one should think, 'Is this the last action of this life?' Meditate single-mindedly on death alone. The preliminary practice is refuge and bodhicitta, the main practice is generating strong aspiration from the depths of one's heart, and the subsequent practice is dedication and transforming actions into yoga. The twenty-second guidance instruction. The third meaning is contemplating that samsara is suffering, which is divided into three points: generating general renunciation, contemplating suffering specifically, and measuring the present situation. The first point is: Like this, for these sentient beings wandering in the three realms of samsara, one should generate strong renunciation. When continuously wandering in samsara, there is no sentient being who has not been the parent, relative, friend, enemy of another sentient being. If one is born alone, like an ant, with one's head and limbs tied together, piled up into a heap, it would be higher than Mount Meru. The tears of crying would be more than the ocean. The number of times one's head and limbs have been cut off for the sake of desire is countless. Even having wealth, possessions, retinue, and perfect power in this life, being born in a poor and destitute state after death is like a dream.

Like happiness and joy disappearing after waking from a dream, the appearances of this life, whether self or other, whether attachment or joy, cannot exceed this state, so what is the point of doing anything? Compared to this, the future is much longer, so one should abide in the Dharma of liberation, and thus practice with the three: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. Twenty-third instruction step. Then, considering the specific sufferings, there are six. Among them, the hells, that is, the sufferings of the eight hot hells are: Sañjīva (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思): In the realm of blazing flames, all hell beings gather together, regarding each other as enemies and meat-eaters, killing each other with weapons of karma. Immediately after dying, they are reborn, and the sound of "Sañjīva (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)" echoes in the sky, reviving them. Thus, dying and being reborn, they must endure until their karma is exhausted. Black Line Hell: Lines are marked on the body by the messengers of Yama, and then sawn with iron saws. All the cut parts stick together, and they are sawn again. Crushing Hell: They are ground into fine powder in an iron mortar, and after being reborn, they are ground again, or crushed between objects resembling rocky mountains, horses, and ogresses. Howling Hell: They are boiled in molten iron, their bodies burn, and they cry and scream. Great Howling Hell: They are locked in two-story iron chambers and burned with fire, and struck with Yama's fire hammers. Hot Hell: They are boiled in molten iron cauldrons, and fire burns from their internal organs. Very Hot Hell: They are burned in burning iron chambers, their shoulders and heads are pierced with three-pointed spears, and then wrapped with iron sheets. Avīci Hell: In a burning iron chamber surrounded by sixteen embers, they experience all the previous sufferings, mixed with flames, and can only utter groans. These sensations are seven times coarser, so the suffering is also seven times greater. In such hells, there is unbearable suffering, so one must do everything possible not to be born there again. Thus, practice perfectly with the three: preparation, main practice, and conclusion. Twenty-fourth instruction step. Then, there is the suffering of the neighboring hells. The neighboring hells are the sixteen embers of Avīci Hell, with pits of fire, mud of corpses, plains of weapons, and rivers of endless ash water in the four directions, totaling four places. That is, the previous Avīci
