For this purpose, recite twenty-one times phaṭ (ཕཊ་,phaṭ,फाट्,severance) together. In the tradition of the great vidyādharas, at the end, visualize that from the hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,हुं,seed syllable) in the heart of the guru, hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,हुं,seed syllable) emanates, enters the heart of the disciple, and hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,हुं,seed syllable) fills the whole body. The guru and disciple together recite three times with the sound of ha. Here, if the elaboration is abbreviated, even if the tsok is not completed, there is no contradiction. Having protected in this way with eight syllables, the actual distinction between saṃsāra and nirvāṇa is: As it is said in the Root Tantra: "If the boundaries of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are not distinguished, the connection of the three realms of body, speech, and mind will not be severed, therefore, the boundaries of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa must be distinguished." Because the nature of the body, speech, and mind of sentient beings is primordially pure in its own nature, but temporarily obscured by the clinging of delusion, from beginningless time until now, they continuously revolve in the six realms. The various postures of the six realms, the words spoken, the thoughts in the mind, the ways of experiencing suffering, have been experienced countless times, but have all become slaves to meaninglessness. What is to be done since they are still attached to unfinished karma? Therefore, now the boundaries of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa of body, speech, and mind must be distinguished, and from now on, the root of being born in saṃsāra must be severed. How to distinguish them? Because by making the path consistent with the karmic appearances of saṃsāra, the weaknesses of bad karma are recognized, and from then on, liberation from clinging will occur. As it is said in the common tantras: "By conceptual thought, karma is conceptual thought, by existence itself, existence is purified, just as water enters the ear, it is drawn out by other water, similarly, the conceptual thought of things is purified by conceptual thought itself." Like that. That is, go to a solitary place such as a cemetery or an empty valley, offer torma to the ḍākinīs and local deities, and request that they do not obstruct the distinction between saṃsāra and nirvāṇa. Now, for the benefit of sentient beings, distinguish the boundaries of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa, and generate the mind that from now on, they will not regress into saṃsāra. The heat and cold of hell, the hunger and thirst of pretas, the exploitation of animals, the birth, old age, sickness, and death of humans, the fighting of asuras, the falling of gods, etc., the ways of acting in the six realms, happiness and suffering, etc., the various postures of the body, the various sounds of speech, the suffering of each one in the mind.

Considering experiencing it within oneself, strive until the body is exhausted, speech is hoarse and blocked, and the flow of mind is severed. At those times, it is said that the Guru also manifests in a wrathful form, and the actions of the three doors are performed together with oneself. Use those to become weary, then straighten the body posture, let the breath of speech be natural, and focus the mind on the essence of the experience, observing it slightly and resting. Or, the body manifests the form of the Sugata, peaceful and wrathful, the speech utters the sound of its essence, and the mind focuses on its image, placing the mind on the path. Occasionally, utter "Ah Ah." Maintain the self-nature of after-awareness. When cutting off continuation, the body maintains the Buddha's posture, the speech utters the sound of "Ah," and the mind rests in non-conceptual equanimity. By doing so, the body has no attachment or aversion, acceptance or rejection to heat, cold, hunger, or thirst, the speech has unwavering faith in the Guru's instructions, and understanding arises spontaneously, and the mind is clear, empty, unobstructed, and self-arisen wisdom effortlessly manifests. It is said that repeating these practices is extremely important until these occur. The purpose of these is: commonly, to purify the sins of body, speech, and mind, pacify obstacles, and reverse appearances and obscurations. Ultimately, there is the need to manifestly attain the Vajra of body, speech, and mind. Then there are the extremely simple and the most simple empowerments. In the 'After Death' it says: 'Then, the three, body, speech, and mind, skillfully settle into their natural state.' As it says, the elements that were previously disturbed and fatigued due to distinguishing between coarse and subtle, the method of settling into a natural state after resting should be done as explained during Trekchö. At these times, the common and uncommon signs and measures, etc., should be understood from the 'Great Essence' and the 'Supreme Treasure Trove.' Secondly, in 'Space Clarity' it says: 'In order to settle the manifest into the essential point, the outer, inner, and secret activities are, abandon the nine activities of body and mind.' As it says, first are the three of the body: outer is all the activities and distractions of worldly delusion, inner are the inferior virtues such as prostrations and circumambulations, secret is abandoning all distracting activities and movements, and abiding alone. Second are the three of speech: outer is the various delusive words of the world, inner is recitation and mantra repetition, etc.
