It is said as a sign of habituation. Therefore, through clarity as the means, non-conceptual wisdom of emptiness arises in the continuum. The third is: the body posture remains as before, the speech posture is to leave the breath in its natural state. The mind posture is to not think or contemplate any of the conceptual thoughts of the three times, without any adjustment, but to relax naturally, without fabrication, loosely and without distraction, keeping it awake. When abiding in this way, the mind can focus on the object of focus, and when abiding in the state of non-thought, self-clarity, like the sky, it is the measure of habituation. Therefore, it has the special need to make the mind of enlightenment grow. To clarify this, recite and practice: Blissful clarity, non-conceptual, like the sky; with the bliss of supreme contemplation, subdue the continuum; just as in a fertile field, crops grow well; one should practice as the basis for all samadhi. Here, in the lineage of the great vidyadharas, after training the mind in impermanence, take refuge. After the second mind training, generate bodhicitta. After the third and fourth, offer the mandala. After the fifth, practice the Vajrasattva recitation. After the sixth, the guru yoga. Then, after the seventh mind training, they begin to learn about the channels and winds. Third, purifying one's own continuum with the four common preliminaries: Although it is not clearly stated in the Copper Book and the essential instructions of the Omniscient One, in the back of the Red Letter it says, "In a solitary place, the accumulation of merit goes first." The text only implies it. The lineage lamas such as the great treasure revealer father and son have always practiced this way. There are five of these: the refuge guidance that is superior to the inferior path; the essence of purifying sins and obscurations, the Vajrasattva practice guidance; the mandala guidance for perfecting the two accumulations; the guru yoga guidance for quickly receiving blessings. First, refuge has two: conventional truth and ultimate truth. The first is: even if we temporarily take birth in a good realm through virtuous actions such as the precepts of abandoning the ten non-virtues, if we do not attain the liberation from suffering, the unsurpassed enlightenment, then after the previous virtuous karma is exhausted, we will fall into the lower realms again, and suffer unbearable intense suffering for a long time.
