Lapa is a Svātantrika. The external appearing phenomena, earth, water, fire, and wind; the internal aggregates, elements, and sense bases, etc., their sphere or source is that which is free from all elaborations, like the sky. Therefore, know that the nature of mind is self-arisen wisdom, without substance and utterly clear. If you do not understand this, you will cling to appearances and mind, and because of the clinging to reality, you will attach various labels to words and terms, and thus the mind will follow and be deluded. Know that the wisdom of the essential meaning, spontaneously accomplished in your own nature, has been present within you from the very beginning. If you do not understand this, and think that you can achieve it now through causes and conditions, and that you will attain pure wisdom in the future, you are deluded because you do not recognize your own nature. Know that your own mind-nature is without any object to grasp, and that it is of the nature of no birth and no death. If you do not understand this and cling to birth and death, and cling to arising and ceasing, you are deluded. Know that the three kāyas are inseparable and complete in your own nature, and that it is the dharmakāya of awareness and emptiness. If you do not understand this, and strive to attain Buddhahood after many kalpas, you are deluded. Know that all experiences of happiness, suffering, and neutrality arise from your own mind, and are equal and without essence, and that they are the magical displays of primordially liberated awareness. If you do not understand this, and try to achieve what you want and abandon what you do not want, and cling to happiness and suffering separately, you are grasping duality as non-duality, which is the nature of delusion. Know that your own awareness is the self-arisen Buddha Samantabhadra. If you do not understand this, and search for a deity from elsewhere through conceptualization and meditation, it is nothing other than the habitual conceptual thoughts of your own mind, and therefore it is delusion. Know that the essence of awareness is primordially purified of karma and afflictions. Know that the wisdom of knowledge is primordially complete. If you do not recognize this, and fear falling into the lower realms, that is also a mistaken thought. Know that the appearances of self-awareness, downwards are the realms of the six realms of samsara, and upwards are the displays of the three kāyas of nirvana, which exist within the spontaneously accomplished essence of wisdom. If you do not understand this, and cling to samsara and nirvana separately, and try to abandon delusion and achieve a true non-delusion, that thought is also a mistake. Know that at the very moment when the five poisons appear, they are the radiance of awareness-emptiness wisdom. If you do not understand this, you will either accept or reject a single gate of appearance.

If you cling to duality and think you can completely eliminate the five poisons, that is also a mistake. Like this, from the appearance of the outer and inner world as illusion, please recognize that the empty form Dharmakaya, which has never been established from the beginning, is self-manifest. If you do not recognize this, and cling to the objects of self and other, acceptance and rejection, as self-existent, then acting with the illusion of self-grasping is also a mistake. For each of the nine vehicles and other schools, apart from what is established by their own conceptual thoughts, in the natural state of mind itself, there is no high or low, and no schools. It is merely a picture of conceptual thoughts that are established by appearance. In reality, please recognize that it is a state beyond thought and expression. If you do not recognize this, from the Hearers to the Secret Mantras, all clinging to the tenets of the base, path, and fruit of each school as true is the nature of illusion. Having explained this well, certainty arises. Incidentally, introducing it in conjunction with purity: Introducing in sequence by decorating a golden probe or long staff with peacock feathers. That is to say, the mandala is round, symbolizing the purity of the Dharmadhatu by its very nature. One cubit long, it is skillful means and wisdom, the inseparability of appearance and emptiness. The surface is flat, it is without limit. The outside is decorated with tsok offerings and flowers, etc., it is the spontaneous perfection of the two accumulations. Surrounded by a fence of five lights, it is the inseparability of body and wisdom, the self-radiance of wisdom. Inside, blue decorated with rays of light and bindus, it is the self-radiance of the great primordial purity of the Dharmadhatu abiding in wisdom, decorated with light and bindus. The red vase made of colored powder, surrounded by five lights, the halo of five lights appearing intertwined is the radiance of the five wisdoms. Red is the symbol of power, great compassion. Intertwined is the inseparability of Dharmadhatu and wisdom. With mouth ornaments and necklaces, it symbolizes the spontaneously accomplished qualities and activities. The vase and the three above it, the essence is one but appear separately, the three bodies are one in the Dharmadhatu, in the state of primordial purity, wisdom is spontaneously accomplished, and is originally inseparable. The jewel vase containing substances, made of jewels, is the nature of awareness itself spontaneously accomplished as the source of all desires. The inside is emptiness, it is the emptiness Dharmadhatu.
