For some reason, one is not born in the desire realm, but in any of the form or formless realms, one perfects the samadhi of equanimity, and one's mind is set on the Buddha-land. As it says in the Lamp of Experience: "When the yogi is in an unmoving state, when the five elements dissolve, the best merges with the wisdom dharmakaya, the intermediate abides in the wisdom between, gaining mastery over the clear and empty mind, and attaining the great vidyadhara of the gods, at that time one will manifest enlightenment." So it is said. The ripening fruit of becoming a man is the samadhi of equanimity. As it says in the Lamp of Experience: "The compassion of the unmoving and abiding yogi acts in various ways, abiding in the realm of non-conceptual bindus, the thoughts, afflictions, all conceptual obscurations, destroying the subtle and attaining equanimity." So it is said. Third, the yoga of equanimity has four: its own nature, example, heat sign, and showing the fruit. First, the nature is: As it says in the root verses: "The dharmas of samsara and nirvana, no matter how they are, are not seen, but are clear in the nature of all-knowing, and remain the same even when years and months have passed." So it is said. If the experiences and realizations of the two yogas above, quiescence and insight, are blended into one, it is the perfect fruit, and all the characteristics of dualistic grasping, such as samsara and nirvana, appearance and existence, vessel and essence, good and bad, permanence and annihilation, existence and non-existence, happiness and suffering, hope and fear, yes and no, etc., are self-liberated. Without the conceptualization of external appearances, the wisdom of self-arising awareness is spontaneously accomplished in all dharmas, and the object itself is primordially pure in the nature of awareness, and the great equanimity of the inseparability of appearance and mind is manifested. The dharmas of samsara and nirvana, unarisen, self-appearing, without object, without object, self-liberated, what is not seen? All is clear in equanimity. So it is said. Thus, in samadhi, all dharmas manifest the nature of equanimity, without distinction of high, medium, or low, and the method of placement, the manner of arising, the method of production, and extraction, like the lower ones, without object and objectifier, the stages of conceptual analysis and practice, but still it is the path of practice, so post-meditation must be applied to samadhi, and there are stages of mixing and non-mixing of samadhi and post-meditation, in the state of equanimity, samadhi and post-meditation are attained, with a slight possessive attitude and contention, so it is said, therefore not encompassed by samadhi.

After ascertaining how behavior arises, equally place the arising of self-awareness and dualistic clinging on itself. The Secret Lamp says, "When samadhi becomes very strong, let it relax naturally and without artifice." Even if there is no subsequent equipoise during the day, in the state between sleep and not-sleep, the appearances of habitual tendencies will appear vaguely. During sleep, measure whether or not dreams interrupt equipoise, and carry on in a state of non-distraction. Whether day or night, whether with or without subsequent equipoise, continuously abide, make effort in practice, and abide on the very one who is aware and experiencing. It is not helpful to merely know what it is like for a short time. The Secret Lamp says, "The nature of reality, which cannot be designated, is labeled as mind. The nature of reality is beyond mind. The wisdom of mind is truly wondrous! This is the lineage of supreme wisdom." The three ways of arising are: first, the arising of uncontaminated realization; second, mixing equipoise and subsequent attainment; and third, the three that are mixed are divided into moving, obtaining, and stable. The method of generating and extracting is no different from the above method of practice. There is no need to eliminate faults here, because the Lamp of Experience says, "Even if special experiences and realizations appear, because afflictions have been eradicated, it is equality. Therefore, analysis of it is meaningless." The measure of the completion of samadhi is that even if counted by years and months, it cannot interrupt equipoise in any way. There will be no fainting or intoxication, and all thoughts will not arise. Even if the body composed of the four elements undergoes change, or if obstacles such as heat or cold arise, they will appear as the samadhi of equipoise. The Secret Lamp says, "Just as a person accustomed to walking and running does not fall, so too, the yogi who has realized non-arising and is familiar with it, whatever he does, is in the state of equality." Second, showing examples. The root verses say, "The state of unchanging equality is the dharmakaya, unattainable, like the moon in water. Non-conceptual equality itself is like soaring in the vast sky." Therefore, two examples are shown: realizing one's own nature and effortlessly reaching the state of Buddhahood. One's own nature is like the reflection of the moon appearing in clear water, but the water itself does not move. In the realization of equality, all phenomena are wisdom.
