The instruction given is: Oh, it is indeed so, that which you have not found the place of arising in your mind is called the unborn Dharmakaya. The mind has no essence and no graspable characteristics, therefore it is emptiness. From where does it arise? That is the unborn Dharmakaya. Then, not finding the place of the mind, as the Bhagavan said in the sutra: 'Subhuti, the mind does not abide outside, nor does it abide inside, nor does it abide anywhere.' That is to say, it is the basis of the Sambhogakaya of the Buddha. Finally, not finding the place to go, because there is no place to come from in the beginning, and no place to stay in the middle, how can there be a place to go in the end? This is merely said to be the basis of the Nirmanakaya. Therefore, the mind is not established in any thing or characteristic, so it is empty and without self from the very beginning. In 'After Death' it says: 'In the beginning, look for the place of arising of the mind, not found, meet with the Dharmakaya. In the middle, look for the place of the mind, not found, meet with the Sambhogakaya. In the end, look for the place to go of the mind, not found, meet with the Nirmanakaya.' Just as it is said. Thus, the mind is only obscured by sudden defilements, other than that, it is enlightened from the very beginning, as it is said in Dzogchen: 'Originally it is a Buddha, it is wrong to want to become a Buddha again.' Thus, the mind that is free from sudden defilements, although its essence is emptiness, but because it has self-luminous nature and unconditioned compassion, the Dharmakaya is not an empty rabbit horn, nor is it the nihilistic view of the heretics. Therefore, it is said in Dzogchen: 'The Dharmakaya is not established as any essence, beings with small minds think there is nothing.' Therefore, although it is not established as a substantial thing, the power of emptiness does not stop, the essence dwells in the body, the nature dwells in the light, and compassion dwells in the form of rays. From that power, the Sambhogakaya arises, benefiting the Bodhisattvas on the ground, and the Nirmanakaya benefits all sentient beings. Thus, although today the mind is introduced as a Buddha, in order to finally obtain stability, one must practice on the path until death. How to practice? As the above-mentioned discernment, the mind itself is the mind that can abide, the mind that can move, once it is determined that the mind is emptiness, for both abiding and moving

Since you haven't done anything, whatever thoughts arise, whatever happens, Whatever appears is the play of wisdom, the profound intention of the Victorious Ones, emptiness. Do not make any modifications or pretenses to it, remain in that state. Even if thoughts are left to their own devices temporarily, they will be liberated subtly and powerfully, so it is the only samadhi. It is the Dharmakaya. It is self-arisen wisdom. It is Mahamudra. It is Prajnaparamita. It is like a rope burned by fire, it cannot bind. Likewise, its own essence is empty, empty. The appearance of thoughts is the arising of the resonance of emptiness. Orgyen Rinpoche said that there is no difference between thoughts and emptiness: the essence of thoughts is considered the Dharmakaya of emptiness. If you meditate, it is the mind, so there is nothing to meditate on. Leave thoughts to their own devices. If you modify or pretend to it, the thoughts themselves will become a confused cycle, so do not make any modifications or pretenses. Being distracted from resting in one's own nature is true delusion, so it is necessary not to be distracted, that alone is sufficient. Previously, when Je Zur Chungwa argued with Ma Thok Jangbar, he said: You Dzogchen practitioners seem to be just meditating. He said: Where are you placing your focus? When asked: Then do I not meditate? He said: Where am I distracted? Such a state is necessary. The Fourth Dzogchen Guru said: Never meditated, and never separated. Not meditating, and never separated from the meaning. Meaning, whatever arises is meditation, so because there is no meditation that modifies the mind, there is never any meditation. If distracted, it is meaningless dissipation, so never separate from resting in one's own nature. Do not ever separate from the meaning of not meditating. Meaning, depending on the capacity, some people need seventy-four days or a month to focus without distraction, but that is not necessary, but rather to be able to effortlessly rest in whatever arises. This is called the intention of Dzogchen Yédröl Longyang. It is said to be the self-luminous awareness of Mahamudra. By maintaining that continuity without interruption, ordinary worldly consciousness is no different from worldly thoughts, but in essence, it is non-grasping, like Saletrig (a clear and transparent state), it is Samadhi free from objects, the emptiness of post-meditation, the awareness of purified habitual tendencies.
