This is the skillful means path relying on emptiness, where ignorance is transformed into luminosity, hatred into fierce samadhi, pride into the pride of deity yoga, desire into the wisdom of power, and jealousy, whatever it may be, is combined with the strong diligence of desiring enlightenment before obtaining supreme and common accomplishments. By adding to and meditating on these ordinary afflictions, the five poisons are purified and manifested as the very nature of the five wisdoms, which is skillful means relative to the conventional truth. The five aggregates, five elements, and five afflictions are purified, from which the five wisdoms arise. This unique method of combining purification is extensively explained in the Vajra Heart Commentary and others. The order of purifying the five aggregates, and Combining the meaning of the five wisdoms into the supreme and unchanging, the root tantra quotes: In emptiness, there is a collection of things, Abandoning the conceived form, it is not an inert object, This is seen in a mirror, Like a young maiden's face reflected. This, for the truth beyond the world, the aggregate of form is like mirror-like wisdom. All things become equality, Things do not change into one and exist, What arises from unchanging wisdom, Is neither cut off nor eternal. This is the aggregate of feeling, which is equality wisdom. The nature of names, all letters, Truly arise from the A-syllable family, Obtaining the state of unchanging great bliss, Neither nameless nor named exist. This is the aggregate of perception, which is discriminating wisdom. Neither male nor female dharma, For those who are free from all fabrications, There is no Buddha nor enlightenment, There are no sentient beings nor life itself. This is the aggregate of formation, which is accomplishing wisdom. The nature of consciousness has transcended, Pure wisdom is without defilement, The self-luminous dharmas, Abide in the realm of the Dharmadhatu. This is the aggregate of consciousness, which is the extremely pure wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. Thus it is said. Their nature is the same as what is said in the context of the Prajnaparamita. The second part is divided into two: explaining the seven root branches and the forty branch divisions. The first is, or rather, profound, vast, pervasive, constant, and great bliss.

Body. The seven of union, that is to say, or rather, the establishment of having wisdom branches, from the unparalleled great tantra of the Vajra Gate, as extracted from the oral instructions revealed by the great accomplished one Śāntigupta of the time of strife. In general, there are three stages: the ground, the path, and the result. First, the seven natures of the ground are: the nature of mind, the emptiness of nature, is profound; it is vast because it pervades all appearances; it is pervasive because it has no near or far; it is constant because it is continuous and its nature is unchanging; the clear appearance, the cessation of meditation, appears as the body, hence it is the wisdom body; it is union because appearance and emptiness are inseparable, and the object and subject are primordially mixed as one taste, hence it is great bliss. Second, the path is: in order to manifest the nature that abides in the ground in this way, one meditates on the aspect that is in accordance with both the ground and the result. Among them, meditating on the absence of self-nature is profound; although it appears in all things, learning to appear as the nature of self-awareness is vast; causing it to pervade all things is pervasive; learning that the nature of mind is unchanging is constant; learning to appear as the mandala of deities is the wisdom body; mixing the appearance of the deity's body and bliss-emptiness into one taste is union; relying on melting bliss to represent the innate nature, hence it is immutable bliss. These can be combined with the respective methods of practice in detail, according to the distinctions of empowerment and generation-completion, etc. Third, the result is combined with the wisdom of the Buddha: the way of abiding as it is, is profound because of knowing freedom from elaboration; the wisdom of knowing all dependent origination as it is is vast; the three bodies of the state of affairs have no near or far because they reach the edge of the sky, and the two form bodies also appear in the infinite world to infinite beings to be tamed, whenever the time is ripe, etc., abiding as if pervading all things at once, hence it is called pervasive or going anywhere. The three bodies are indestructible and their essence never changes, hence it is constant. Self-appearance and its causes also appear to others as having seven branches, which is the wisdom body, the beings to be tamed.

The various forms of emanation bodies appearing as birds are also included in this. The inseparability of body and wisdom is the innate, unchanging bliss of union, and the transformation of the dependent and the depended into inseparability is also bliss. What is being discussed here is the latter. Second, the first of the seven, such as profoundness, is: Profound, without inherent existence. Self-awareness is without increase or decrease, and without conceptual thought, possessing the five characteristics of appearing clearly. Profound wisdom possesses five branches or characteristics, namely: Because it arises dependently, it is the characteristic of being without inherent existence; arising in the nature of mere awareness, separated from both the knowable and the knower, it is self-awareness; because it is inseparably endowed with the nature of qualities, there is no increase in qualities in terms of its essence; as it is said, the water element, gold, and space are considered pure as if they were pure. Thus, since its nature is forever free from impurities, there is no decrease in what is to be abandoned, which is to say, there is no increase or decrease; it is not an object of conceptual thought that grasps at characteristics, and it does not abide in the nature of conceptualizing with characteristics; and from that very non-conceptualization, it appears clearly as the reflection of all things, these are the five. The second is: Vast, merit, wisdom, object, focus, entry, activities, etc. Vast wisdom is: the cause is vast merit, and vast wisdom, and the sphere of wisdom's activity, that is, its appearance is vast, and because it focuses on all the Buddha's teachings, the focus is vast, and because it enters in the aspect of all phenomena, the entry is vast, and because it acts from all doors for the benefit of all sentient beings, the activity is vast, that is, it possesses the five characteristics or branches of vastness. The third is: Pervasive, object, time, continuum, emptiness, equality. What is meant by pervasive is: that wisdom pervades all objects without near or far, it pervades all times without near or far, it pervades the three continua of ground, path, and fruit without any difference in essence, emptiness, that is, it pervades because suchness is without difference, and it pervades because it sees all phenomena as equality without conceptualization, these are the five branches of pervasiveness. The fourth is: Constant, continuous, without cessation, without cessation, without characteristics, unchanging, inconceivable.
