Because the truth of reality is the path of directly seeing the non-conceptual, it is called the Path of Seeing, which is the meaning of its etymology. So, what is the difference between the realization during the stage of the Path of Preparation? The realization of the Path of Seeing is the direct seeing of the nature of reality itself, while the realization of the Path of Preparation is in accordance with it, only realizing a part of reality. Fourth, there are eight points to explain the Path of Meditation: establishing the characteristics, determining the basis, detailed classification, determining the nature, differences in abandonment and realization, expressing the qualities, what is the function, and showing the etymology. The first point is: the Path of Meditation is the stage of familiarizing oneself with special samadhi. The characteristic of the Path of Meditation is: any entrance to liberation, which is encompassed by the stage of familiarizing oneself with special samadhi. The second point is: making the direct realization familiar to the mindstream. The basis of that path, which is the antidote to abandoning everything, is: the meaning of directly realizing reality through the Path of Seeing, making it familiar and integrated into the mindstream. The third point has two: the mundane Path of Meditation and the supramundane Path of Meditation. The first point is: the contaminated Path of Meditation can be known from what has been said above. The contaminated mundane Path of Meditation can be known from what was said above when explaining the Brahma Vehicle, so it is not mentioned here. The second point is: the uncontaminated Path of Transcendence relies on Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas. The four paths of application, immediate, liberation, and special, have small, medium, and large essences. There are two types based on the distinction of familiarization with meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. The eight limbs of the Noble Path should be practiced. If the uncontaminated Nirvana Path of Meditation is classified, there are five types: classified by basis, classified by abandonment, classified by path, classified by essence, and classified by familiarization. The first is: the three paths of meditation of Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas. The second is the classification by abandonment: there are one hundred and forty-four things to be abandoned by meditation, and there are just as many antidotes. The third is the classification by path: the four paths of application, immediate, liberation, and special. The fourth is the classification by essence: there are three types of meditation paths: small, medium, and large. The fifth is the classification by familiarization: there are two types of familiarization from the perspective of meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. In that stage, correct view and so on should also be practiced.

Therefore, one should train in the Noble Eightfold Path. Fourth, to abandon the four hundred and fourteen objects to be abandoned by meditation with antidotes. It has the distinction of support, ground, and object. The display of the nature of that path is twofold: the way to abandon what is to be abandoned by meditation and the way to generate the path of meditation. The first has three parts: the definition of what is to be abandoned by meditation, its divisions, and the way to abandon it with antidotes. The first is that the self that is born together does not allow the mind to be completely pacified. The second is its division: in the desire realm there are six afflictions that are born together, and in the two upper realms there is no anger, so each of the eight grounds, such as the first dhyana, has five each, for a total of forty. Combined with the previous ones, there are forty-six. These are divided into three types: large, medium, and small, and each of these is divided into nine types, such as the largest of the large, so there are four hundred and fourteen. The third is the way to abandon it with antidotes: it should be understood as explained in the path of seeing. The second, the way to generate the path of meditation, has three parts: the three distinctions of where it arises, what ground it relies on, and what object it focuses on. The first is that it arises in the males and females of the three continents, and in the gods, except for those without perception and those at the peak of existence, because it is the support of merit. The three lower realms, those with unpleasant sounds, and hermaphrodites are those with the heaviest obscurations. Those without perception have unclear minds, and those at the peak of existence do not see peace in the upper realms, so it does not arise in them. The second is that the path of meditation of the Hearers relies on the four main bodies of meditation, the near-attainment of the first meditation, the special main body, and the three formless fruits, for a total of nine. The reason for not relying on others is that the mind of the desire realm is not capable, the mind of the peak of existence is unclear, and the near-attainment of the remaining three meditations and three formless realms also involves effort to attain the upper realms, so the aspect of calm abiding is small, and with that power, calm and insight are not combined, so it does not rely on them. The path of meditation of the Solitary Buddhas, if practicing in a group, relies on any of the six meditation grounds, and those like rhinoceros horns rely on the main body of the fourth meditation. The path of meditation of the Bodhisattvas relies on the very pure fourth meditation, but the place of birth is the desire
