This is because the lineage of Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas is determined. The eighth ground refers to entering the stream-enterer, which is the eighth counting back from the Arhat fruit, entering the first fruit. The ground of seeing refers to the fruit of the stream-enterer, because one directly sees the aspects of the four truths. The thin ground refers to the fruit of once-returner, because one has abandoned most of the afflictions of the desire realm. The ground of detachment from desire refers to the fruit of non-returner, because there is no desire for the desire realm. The ground of what has been done refers to the fruit of the Arhat, which is the path of directly realizing the four truths. The Śrāvaka ground refers to the ground of the basis of classification, or the remaining three stream-enterer fruits such as the stream-enterer of the once-returner. Because the realization of the Śrāvaka is expressed with other names, the general name will be understood as a specific name. The Pratyekabuddha ground refers to the thirty-seven dharmas of the wings of enlightenment, generating the mind of wanting to become a Buddha alone, accumulating the accumulations of offering to the Buddhas for hundreds of kalpas, and in the last life, in a pure land without Buddhas and Śrāvakas, without relying on other teachers, spontaneously realizing enlightenment, that is the Pratyekabuddha ground. Here, the classification of the grounds is not being counted. Second, the Great Vehicle speaks of the ten grounds of Bodhisattvas. The so-called ground of the perfectly complete Buddha refers to the practice of Samadhi on the emptiness of the two selflessnesses and the nature of all dharmas, which are the ten grounds of the Great Vehicle, that is, the ten grounds from the Joyful Ground to the Cloud of Dharma, which will be discussed below. As it is said, in the Garland of Jewels: As in the Śrāvaka Vehicle, the Śrāvaka ground is taught as eight, similarly in the Great Vehicle, the ten grounds of Bodhisattvas are taught. Regarding the ground of the Buddha, the Immutable Supreme states that it is divided into two

What are the differences between these two? There are many kinds. For example, in terms of ground, there are two kinds of magical powers: on the ground of detachment, there is only one kind of minor magical power; on the ground of the Buddha, there are all kinds of magical powers. Similarly, there are also two kinds of clairvoyance: the former has five kinds of clairvoyance except for the exhaustion of outflows; the latter has six kinds of clairvoyance, including the clairvoyance of the exhaustion of all seeds of defilements. There are also two kinds of realization of selflessness: the former only realizes the selflessness of the imputation of a person to the continuum of the five aggregates of appropriation; the latter realizes the selflessness of all imputations of a person and their dharmas. There are also two kinds of ways of practicing the path: the former is to practice the four noble truths; the latter is to practice the samadhi of emptiness, which contemplates that all dharmas have no true nature. There are also two kinds of seeing: the former sees the limited number of hidden things; the latter sees the number of all infinite things. There are also two kinds of language, teaching, and benefit: the former understands the language of a limited number of sentient beings, and teaches and benefits the limited; the latter is the nature of countless sentient beings. There are also two kinds of nirvana: the former is the nirvana with remainder, because the imprints of obscurations have not been completely abandoned; the latter is the nirvana without remainder, because the imprints have been completely abandoned, and these are their differences. Third, the extensive explanation of the Buddha-ground has six aspects: the nature of the ground, the definition, the etymology, the classification, the characteristics, and the reason for determining the number as ten grounds. The first is: the nature of the ground is the basis of excellent qualities. The nature of the ground is the wisdom of realizing selflessness in the continuum of a Bodhisattva from the initial generation of Bodhicitta to the actual attainment of enlightenment, which is in accordance with the assistant samadhi, and is the support or basis for the gradual generation of various excellent qualities from lower to higher. The second is: the definition is the skillful wisdom of the continuum of the learner. Its definition is the uncontaminated wisdom held by the excellent skillful wisdom in the continuum of the Bodhisattva learner, together with the corresponding ones, which serves as the support for excellent qualities. The third is: the etymology is support, attainment, separation, and later and later.
