First, single awareness (ba rkyang pa skye) arises. Then, it arises in union with conceptuality. Similarly, it is in union with analysis. It is in union with joy. It arises in union with unwavering bliss. At that point, the limbs of meditation are fully born in the continuum. If one continuously cultivates that, then ultimately, the qualities of perfection will quickly arise. Fourth, the tantra says, "In its center, the form of the Buddha is the Enjoyment Body, separate from object and aspect." This shows the uncommon signs of meditation. Summarized by ten signs, all the images of the three realms are far superior to what was seen during the previous re-absorption. The appearances of various forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures, various colors, also radiating light, being minute, shimmering, trembling, and difficult to destroy, these five qualities are seen marked by many bindus, and in the center of the bindus, many images of the Buddha appear. This is also the realization of the purity of mind itself. Therefore, from the perspective of conventional truth, all appearances arise naturally like illusions. As the Later Tantra says, "Therefore, the mind, through steadfast meditation, can also completely abandon external objects." The measure is the same as re-absorption. Its basis, the faculty, is the divine eye. By this reason, the five superknowledges are also accomplished. Fifth, The basis of purification is the same as previously explained during re-absorption. If we differentiate the objects to be purified, then the aggregates such as the aggregate of consciousness, the elements, and the sixfold group of the space element are divided into one group. If we differentiate the means of purification, which is the limb of meditation itself, then there are the five limbs of meditation that have an object, and the five forms of emptiness that are its object, making ten in total. Sixth, the tantra says, "The five superknowledges will be obtained, the lord of men is purified by the union of meditation." Therefore, through perfect meditation, the temporary result, the five superknowledges, arise spontaneously, and the ultimate result is the manifestation of the sixfold group of deities of the space element, such as Akshobhya.

Tasting the nectar within liberation, mixing the life-essence downward with burning and accomplishing immortality. Therefore, the limb of life-exertion, complete with true characteristics, and the one who is in accordance with life-exertion, the things to be accomplished by the beginner, are divided into two. For the time being, let us explain it by taking the latter as the authority. That is, in the instruction passed down from Paṇchen Śākyaśrī and the unified instruction of the three traditions of Ra and Dro, the preliminary practice is to purify the channels with the Vajra recitation. Having become proficient, the practice of filling and releasing the gentle wind causes the life-force to enter the central channel. Having entered, the practice of the rough wind vase-like causes the life-force to bind in the central channel. If one does not understand and cannot bind, then the path of the sun and moon is bound by forceful practice. If the lower gate is forcibly blocked by obstruction, then liberation is achieved by the upward practice. The essence of the inner nectar is tasted by the practice of using the three tongues. The life-essence is mixed downward and immortality is achieved by the practice of igniting the fierce woman, which is called the six Vajra words. Of these, the first four are the instructions for life-exertion, and the latter two are made into the instructions for holding. Here too, the first of the six, such as name and meaning, is: Prāṇa (藏文:པྲ་ཎ་,梵文天城体:प्राण,梵文罗马拟音:prāṇa,汉语字面意思:命) means life. Ayama (藏文:ཨ་ཡ་མ་,梵文天城体:अयम्,梵文罗马拟音:ayama,汉语字面意思:阿雅玛) means to prevent, to strive, or to lengthen. Therefore, combining them, Prāṇāyāma (藏文:པྲ་ཎཱ་ཡ་མ་,梵文天城体:प्राणायाम,梵文罗马拟音:prāṇāyāma,汉语字面意思:命勤) means life-exertion or life-prevention. In this, life is the name of wind, and preventing or striving is the meaning of causing to enter. Secondly, the actual limb of life-exertion is to cultivate after the fifth limb of meditation has arisen in the mind. The one who is in accordance with it can be cultivated even by a beginner, and especially it is very good to cultivate after having gained some experience in any virtuous object of thought. Thirdly, the limb of the method of cultivation, the first of the five points, the object of what is done by life-exertion, is generally all the channels, winds, and bindus of the Vajra body. The main ones are the three below the navel: Ro, Kyang, and the central channel. Below the navel are the three channels of feces, urine, and semen, which are six. The winds are the life-wind and the downward-clearing wind. Secondly, the necessity of cultivation, from the Tantra: "Therefore, for the sake of the body's benefit, at each time of day and night, one should cultivate the union of the channels." Also, from the instructions of the Kalacakra Foot: "For the sake of generating unchanging bliss, the limb of life-exertion."
