There is nothing at all. Saying this is of great significance. However, even if one has committed those sins in this life, if one receives empowerment again, keeps the vows properly, and possesses the special ability of the completion stage practice of channels and winds with the generation stage as a preliminary, then it can be accomplished. If a sinner merely learns some simple methods of wind practice and phowa, even if some benefit arises from the blessing of visualization, it will not be properly accomplished. The meaning of the instruction that one can attain Buddhahood without practice is that, through the profound secret of the phowa instruction, even a great sinner who is destined to fall into the lower realms can temporarily prolong the result of their sins and take rebirth in a higher realm, becoming a supreme support for the practice of mantra. In this way, obtaining that special support for accomplishing Buddhahood is what is meant by that term. And it also refers to gradually accomplishing it by relying on that support to practice. Another explanation is, as stated in the Oral Instructions: "If the three bodies are not accomplished, one will become the chief of the vidyadharas, and gradually accomplish the great seal." This means that by obtaining the vidyadhara state through phowa, in the life of the vidyadhara, without practicing the remaining path, one can attain a state like the first bhumi, a state where the term Buddha can be applied. The sign of the accomplishment of a qualified phowa yogi is that, through the mastery of the vase breathing practice, the downward-clearing wind causes the blazing tummo fire to ignite, and the force of the fire-wind causes the indestructible wind-mind in the heart to move from its own place and be able to pierce through the crown of the head. As it says in the Vajra Dakini: "The boundary of the place must be purified. After purifying, one should transfer consciousness. Otherwise, it will be meaningless. Bind the door of the vase breathing, purify the hole of the door." This is also stated in the Four Seats Tantra. The meaning is that the place of happiness and suffering is the body, and its boundary is the ultimate central channel. If that channel is not purified by the tummo yoga, using fire-wind and samadhi, then phowa cannot be accomplished, and the effort is meaningless, as Bhava Bhadra said. Second, the phowa of clear light, illusory body, and generation stage. Regarding the meaning of the old and new scriptures, as said by Je Rangjung Dorje and others, the best is clear light, the intermediate is illusory body, and the lowest is the generation stage.

The first of the three kinds of transference (phowa) is: Having become accustomed to the profound key point of the union of wisdom that realizes the meaning of reality as it is, and the samadhi that abides single-pointedly in that state, when death is imminent and the signs of the dissolution of the elements appear, one places the view of suchness, in which the three spheres of agent, action, and object of transference are not fixated upon, on the infallible ground, without effort of placing or abiding. Like water poured into water, one merges inseparably with the ground luminosity, and this is called the first bardo, which is to attain Buddhahood as the dharmakaya at the time of death. The second is: If, having become of middling faculties, one does not recognize the luminosity at the end of the death-process dissolution stages and the three appearances, or even if one recognizes it, one is unable to abide in it, then one should think, 'I shall arise as the illusory body sambhogakaya.' Nourished by the force of previous habituation, at the end of the reversal of the three appearances, the illusory body arises as a deity form. That itself is also purified by the stages of the luminosity ultimate truth, and like a fish leaping from water, one arises from the bardo of samsara as the yuganaddha illusory body, and this is to attain Buddhahood as the sambhogakaya in the bardo. The venerable forebears of this lineage considered the practice of the first two transferences and the first two bardos to be indistinguishable. The third has four aspects: transference by training the mind, transference by manipulating the body, forceful transference, and transference by entering a corpse. The first is: By the combination of the three of inner and outer emptiness and holding, raising, and drawing in the prana, one activates the letters of the mind, and having trained to gain mastery over entering and reversing, one tests the experience with signs. One abandons transference at an inappropriate time, and when the time has come, one applies it to the task. The second is: If the training has not become thorough and one is suddenly confronted with death, then one connects with devotion and bodhicitta before a blessed object of refuge. In accordance with the posture of the Tathagata passing into nirvana, and by the combination of unborn letters, one should enter a pure realm. It is said that this is a profound instruction that brings great benefit to ordinary people and animals. The third is: In situations such as being certain to be killed by an executioner due to negative karma from the past, by the key points of the body, the chakras; the key points of the mind, transcending the nine and three; and the key points of speech, the combination of vowels and consonants, half and a third, in an instant, one enters the special support of mantra practice.
