There is no obstruction. As it is said, like the dream body arising from habits, composed of subtle wind and mind, there is no obstruction to anything. Fourth, as it is said in the Treasury of Knowledge (Abhidharmakośa): "Complete faculties, unimpeded movement." As it is said, like the bardo body arising from the mind, possessing all faculties, moving without obstruction. Fifth, as it is said in the Ocean of Dakinis: "Among yogis, the supreme of tantras, Explains the rituals of this and that, The illusion of clear light, Is spoken of as illusion in the world." As it is said, like the empty form arising from the power of completion stage meditation, like a hanging painting. Sixth, the mandala and so on manifested by the samadhi of hearing, which is stable due to the generation and completion stages. Seventh, as it is said in the Sutra: "The Tathagata is the illusion manifested by wisdom." As it is said, all the inexhaustible ornaments of the body, speech, and mind of the Tathagatas. Furthermore, there are divisions into common meaning illusory body and secret meaning illusory body, and divisions into meditative illusion and post-meditative illusion, and divisions into the illusory body of the first practitioner, the illusory body of the third stage, and the illusory body of union, and the three illusory bodies of common meaning, secret meaning, and union, and the four illusory bodies of literal meaning, common meaning, secret meaning, and ultimate meaning, etc. Here, I will briefly explain the oral instructions of this precious lineage. Second, there are three: impure illusory body, pure illusory body, and completely pure illusory body. First, practice impure dharmas, like the eight similes. The essential oral instructions for the practice of this tradition must be practiced in sequence, the first of which is known as the impure illusory body. The meaning of the name impure illusion, from the first chapter of Vajra Dakini's Gradual Differentiation: "The three realms are all, Beings are like illusions. Stable and moving, Beings have no object. All that is seen and touched, Is just like illusion." As it is said, all the impure appearances of the three realms, stable and moving, seen and touched, appear like illusions, but are not truly established, hence they are impure illusions. Not realizing this, the means to abandon the clinging to characteristics that cling to reality, is called its oral instruction. To this,

Further training is, as stated in the "Golden Rosary of Six Dharmas": "Then, first, view all external appearances as similar to the eight examples of illusion. These forms, etc., appear when the mind is deluded, but do not exist externally, like dreams and illusions. They arise from causes and conditions, like echoes and reflections. They are impermanent, like bubbles and dewdrops. They appear but have no inherent nature, like mirages and rainbows. By training and becoming familiar in this way, one abandons the conceptual thoughts that rely on appearances." Thus, all internal and external things encompassed by the three realms of vessel and essence, the appearances of samsara and nirvana, are all viewed as appearing but not truly existing, and are established and meditated upon using examples such as illusions and dreams. Specifically, the training is to establish one's own body as an empty-appearing image, speech as an empty-sounding echo, and mind as an empty-thinking illusion. This is also mentioned in the Prajnaparamita Sutras and Tantras, and is a common teaching of both Sutra and Tantra. The second is the pure illusory body: training in the pure deity, mantra, and play of wisdom. Transforming the impure appearances of vessel and essence into the mandala of pure deities and practicing them, hence it is called the pure illusory body. This is common to the lower Tantras, but is extremely different from the path of the Perfection of Wisdom. Among them, the profound principle of mantra is that all aggregates, sense bases, and elements are said to have been established from the beginning as the nature of deities. In order to realize this which has not yet been realized, one establishes the way it exists and meditates on it, thereby generating a special illusory samadhi. Because vessel and essence appear as deities, one abandons ordinary clinging to appearances, and also establishes the deities as empty-appearing illusions, thereby abandoning the conceptual thoughts of clinging to magnificent deities through stages. Therefore, one views all appearances of one's own body and vessel and essence as the support being the palace and the supported being the mandala of deities; all sounds as the self-sound of profound mantra; and all movements of the mind as the play of wisdom. And these are merely established by oneself, not truly existing, and should be meditated upon as illusions. The method of representing this with three examples is as stated above in the five sequential phrases. The view of this Kagyu lineage is that the impure appearances of vessel and essence.
