With extraordinary intelligence, seek liberation. For this, one should well protect the three types of precepts that one has taken, namely the general precepts and the individual precepts. In this way, by seeing the faults of samsara, a genuine desire to escape from it will arise. Through this, the precepts will be purified, and the stages of the path of the middling person will arise in one's being. Having practiced in this way, one should then meditate. The third is: to have great love and compassion for beings who have been one's mothers. By generating the mind of enlightenment, practicing the six perfections and the four means of attraction, and acting for the benefit of oneself and others with pure altruistic intention. Meditate on the stages of the path of the great person. Do not be content with the former, but one must study the root of the path to Buddhahood—the third stage. Just as one is drowning in the ocean of suffering, one should also think that all beings who have been one's mothers are also drowning in it, and thus cultivate the mind of enlightenment, which is rooted in love and compassion, and strive to generate it. Without it, practicing the six perfections and the two stages, etc., is like building a house on a foundationless ground. When a slight experience of bodhicitta arises, one should take the vow of aspiration bodhicitta with a ceremony and strive to practice its trainings, so that the aspiration mind becomes stable. After that, listen to the vast practices, understand the boundaries of what to abandon and what to adopt, and generate the desire to study them. When this desire arises, take the vow of engaging bodhicitta with a ceremony, and study the six perfections that ripen one's own being, and the four means of attraction that ripen the beings of others, etc. In particular, one should risk one's life to protect the root downfalls, and strive not to be defiled by minor, medium, and major transgressions and misdeeds. Even if one is defiled, one should strive to purify them. After that, one must especially study the last two perfections (wisdom and skillful means). Become skilled in the methods of meditation, and practice samadhi. Strive to generate the pure view of understanding the two selflessnesses in one's being, understand how to integrate the view into practice, and cultivate it. Such meditation and wisdom are called shamatha and vipashyana. Apart from shamatha and vipashyana, there is no other practice. Therefore, after taking the bodhisattva vows, the practice of shamatha and vipashyana will naturally be included in the study of its trainings. By studying in this way, one will always act for the vast benefit of oneself and others. With unwavering higher intention, completely purify the practice of the path of the great person.

The stages of arising in the continuum, one should meditate diligently on this meaning. These should not be separated either; one should not desire to attain the higher path without having meditated on the lower path, and when listening to the higher path, one should desire to practice the lower path even more. When meditating on these, one should also examine one's own thoughts and maintain a balanced state of mind. For example, if one feels that one does not have enough respect for the spiritual friend who guides one on the path, one should strive to rely on the spiritual friend because they explain the root of goodness. Similarly, if one has little interest in practice, one should meditate on the difficulty of finding leisure and endowments; if one is too attached to this life, one should focus on meditating on impermanence and the faults of the lower realms. If one feels that one is deviating from the vows one has taken, one should focus on meditating on karma and its effects. If one has little renunciation for samsara, then seeking liberation will only be lip service, so one should contemplate the faults of samsara. If one does not have a strong mind to do everything for the benefit of sentient beings, one should train in the aspiring bodhicitta with its causes, because it explains the root of the Great Vehicle. After taking the vows of a Bodhisattva, when learning the practices, if one feels that the bondage of clinging to signs is very strong, one should destroy the object of clinging to signs with wisdom and train in emptiness like the sky and like an illusion. If the mind does not stay on the object of focus and becomes a slave to distraction, then the superiors have said that one should focus on training in one-pointedness. One should know that this can represent other situations that have not been mentioned. In short, one should not be biased, but one should make the continuum usable for all aspects of virtue. Third, explaining how all paths are included in it: All the teachings that begin with higher realms, definite goodness, and the Great Vehicle are considered to be included in these three levels of the path. The necessary meaning of all the Dharma taught by the Buddha is solely to accomplish the benefit of sentient beings. There are two kinds of benefits to be accomplished: temporary higher realms and ultimate definite goodness. First, everything that is said starting from practice is included in the path of the lower person itself or in the Dharma categories common to the lower person. The special feature is that the person of the lower level does not pay special attention to this life, but strives for the high position and perfection of the next life, and for the sake of practicing these causes.
