Homage to the straightforward, those requiring interpretation, and the hidden meanings! Reliance and the four reasonings are paramount! To summarize the method of contemplation: that which measures, like a precious key; and that which is measured, like a treasury of precious Dharma. These two are definite. Among these, the former has two types: common and uncommon. The common measuring standards are the straightforward and those requiring interpretation, the four meanings, the four reliances, and the four reasonings. Secondly, the detailed explanation is divided into two: common and uncommon. First, there are four: the two straightforward and those requiring interpretation, the four meanings requiring interpretation, the four reliances, and the explanation of the four reasonings. The first is: beings with inherent qualities, sentient beings, arising and ceasing, and the method of entering the nature of aggregates, elements, etc., along with the conventional truth of straightforward meaning. Among these, the main focus is on beings with inherent qualities, appearances, and common designations. The method of entering the nature of persons, sentient beings, aggregates, elements, sense bases, etc., and their arising, ceasing, coming, and going, etc., is measured through the sequence of speaking, thinking, and expressing, and is explained with fabrication. Also, the scriptures and commentaries that can express this are called the conventional truth of straightforward meaning. As it is said in the "Noble Samādhirāja Sūtra": As spoken by the Sugata, the Tathāgata, one should know the distinctions of the definitive meaning sūtras. Whatever is taught about sentient beings, persons, and individuals, all those teachings should be known as requiring interpretation. Also, as it is said in the "Noble Inexhaustible Intelligence Sūtra": What is a sūtra of definitive meaning? What is a sūtra of meaning requiring interpretation? Those sūtras that are taught for the purpose of entering the path are called meanings requiring interpretation. It also says: Those sūtras that speak of self, sentient beings, life, individuals, persons, those born of power, lords of power, agents, experiencers, and various sounds, and those that teach the ownerless as having owners, these are called meanings requiring interpretation. Also, as it is said in the "Praise of the Inconceivable": In that which arising and ceasing, etc., sentient beings, life, etc., are taught, therefore, the straightforward meaning, that is the conventional. The nature of reality, free from elaboration, the gate of purity, that which shows the reality of things is the definitive meaning. Dharma

Those explanations that show the necessity of what is said, although intended to be asserted as provisional, are not definite. The profound meaning of the nature of all phenomena, such as arising and ceasing, which is free from elaboration, emptiness (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད།), signlessness (Tibetan: མཚན་མ་མེད་པ་), wishlessness (Tibetan: སྨོན་པ་མེད་པ་), the three doors of liberation, or all that is encompassed by the four doors including non-apprehension, and the reality of the nature of things, naturally luminous, and the meaning that transcends all speech, thought, and expression, those that are taught, and the scriptures and commentaries that teach them, are called ultimate truth and definitive meaning. As it is said in the *Inexhaustible Intelligence Sutra*: "Those sutras that are taught for the purpose of entering into the fruit are called definitive meaning." And it says, "Those sutras that teach emptiness (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད།), signlessness (Tibetan: མཚན་མ་མེད་པ་), wishlessness (Tibetan: སྨོན་པ་མེད་པ་), non-apprehension (Tibetan: མངོན་པར་འདུ་མི་བྱེད་པ་), unborn (Tibetan: མ་སྐྱེས་པ་), non-existent (Tibetan: མ་བྱུང་བ་), non-object (Tibetan: དངོས་པོ་མེད་པ་), selflessness (Tibetan: བདག་མེད་པ་), non-sentient being (Tibetan: སེམས་ཅན་མེད་པ་), non-life (Tibetan: སྲོག་མེད་པ་), non-person (Tibetan: གང་ཟག་མེད་པ་), non-lord (Tibetan: བདག་པོ་མེད་པ་), without interruption up to the door of liberation, those sutras are called definitive meaning." And so on. In the *Inconceivable Praise*, it is also taught, "The emptiness (Tibetan: སྟོང་པ་ཉིད།) of all phenomena, is the definitive meaning." Some say in the *Uttaratantra*: "Submissive mind and despising inferior sentient beings, false clinging and denigrating the true Dharma, the five faults of adding to oneself, are spoken to abandon those who have them." Like this, those explanations that show the necessity of what is said in the Dharma itself are intended to be asserted as provisional, but there is no certainty about this, because all Dharmas have only the necessity of taming those to be tamed, so all will become the fault of being provisional, and there are also cases where the necessity of what is said is shown in what one considers to be definitive meaning. In general, in the *Sutra Taught by Inexhaustible Intelligence*, it says: "Those sutras that enter into the fruit, ultimate truth, complete purification, exhaustion of karma and afflictions, non-duality of samsara and nirvana, profound view difficult to comprehend, making the mind determined to think, these seven, and the eighth, the three doors of liberation, non-apprehension (Tibetan: འདུ་མི་བྱེད་པ་), unborn (Tibetan: མ་སྐྱེས་པ་), non-existent (Tibetan: མ་བྱུང་བ་), non-object (Tibetan: དངོས་པོ་མེད་པ་), selflessness (Tibetan: བདག་མེད་པར་བསྟན་པ་) etc. are definitive meaning. From that...
