Wisdom's distinctions arise instantaneously, without dependence on anything else. Second is oral instruction: the essence is free from mind and unconfused; the nature is the collapse of the source of conceptual thought; the characteristic is freedom from grasping at characteristics. Third is the tantra's presentation in its own tradition: it becomes the source of all teachings; the nature is free from samsara and nirvana, so there is no acceptance or rejection, no activity; the dharma nature does not abide in sound and words, so it is not touched by disputes about emptiness. Among these, there are also internal distinctions, but mainly the external distinctions are known as the oral transmission and the explanatory transmission, which have four cycles: the outer cycle, like the body; the inner cycle, like the eye; the secret cycle, like the heart; and the most secret, unsurpassed cycle, like the perfection of all, making four in total. First, the essence of the outer cycle is that afflictions are not established, so the five poisons are taken as the path; the nature is without effort or accomplishment, so whatever appears arises as the nature of reality; the characteristic is without partiality, so empty appearances are not separated in any way. The essence of the inner cycle is that it transcends form, so it is the nature of reality without characteristics; the nature is without coming or going, so it is the wisdom of permanence and continuity. The characteristic is: it pierces both samsara and nirvana, like a root; its own entities are related to each other, like a trunk; its potential appearances increase in every way, like branches; its clarity is unceasing, like flowers; its various aspects ripen into one, like fruit. The essence of the secret cycle is that giving and realization are simultaneous, so it does not rely on the three wisdoms; the nature is that ceasing breath and liberation are simultaneous, so it does not rely on the power of habituation; the characteristic is that becoming a Buddha and the arising of compassion are simultaneous, so it does not rely on the two accumulations of cause and condition. The most secret and unsurpassed is: the essence is not knowable, so it does not rely on the knower; the nature is directly seen, so the nature of reality does not abide in mental discrimination; the characteristic is that the four visions do not hope for future results, but in this very life unite with the primordial ground. Fifth is meditation: meditation is the mind division, awareness-emptiness, the dharmakaya. The expanse division, the nature of reality, the effortless state, the essential instructions, original liberation, is placed beyond acceptance and rejection. The meditation of these is: the mind division is placed in the state of awareness-emptiness dharmakaya. The expanse division is placed in the state of the nature of reality, without effort. The essential instruction division is placed in the state of original liberation, the nature of reality free from acceptance and rejection. In general, Dzogchen's

The meditation of Ati Yoga is divided into Trekchö and Tögal, which will be explained in detail below. Sixth is conduct: spontaneously arising conduct. This means that whatever appears arises as the play of Dharmata, so there is no acceptance or rejection, and this is spontaneously arising conduct. As it says in "Great Sky": "Without action, all actions are accomplished." Also, as it says in "The Treasure Trove Key": "The conduct of Ati Yoga, with view and meditation as its lifeblood, the conduct that arises from force, is like the conduct of a madman, acting without hindrance to anything." Seventh is the result: going to the original place of liberation. This means that Lhundrup Kuntuzangpo (Spontaneously Perfect Samantabhadra) abides in the original place of liberation from this very moment, reaching the ultimate perfection, and the four confidences reach their limit, so samsara is liberated into nirvana. Fourth, regarding the vows of these: These vows should be understood as the precepts of mantra. The vows and precepts of these three yogas, both general and specific, common and uncommon, should be understood from the precepts of mantra explained in detail above. Fifth, regarding the detailed divisions of these: If divided in detail, the three yogas, each divided into three, become nine. According to the way they are established within the Tantra, Agama, and Upadesha, if divided in detail, each of the three yogas is divided into three, such as Maha's Maha Yoga, etc., resulting in nine, as explicitly stated in "The Garland of Views and Practices." It is also explained very extensively in the command of the Agama of the De Du Sadhana. If we summarize these points, Maha's Maha is the gradual generation of the mandala of deities, Maha's Anu is the spontaneously accomplished mandala of nature, and Maha's Ati is the ultimate essence of unborn nature. Anu Yoga's Maha is the simultaneous generation of the mandala of deities, Anu's Anu is the purification of the conventional mandala of deities into the Dharmadhatu in the ultimate sense, and Anu's Ati is the non-duality of self-awareness wisdom. Ati's Maha is the mandala of deities that has always existed, Ati's Anu is the mandala of deities that is one's own mind, and Ati's Ati is that there is no certainty about the nature of mind, but it is spontaneously accomplished. And so on. In "The Key to the Secret Mantras," it also says that all secret mantras are the three of Tantra, Agama, and Upadesha.
