Aim. The benefits of empowerment. First, relying on completely pure rituals, special seeds of the four kayas of the fruit are planted on the aggregates, elements, and sense bases, thereby completely ripening the continuum. The standard of ripening is, as stated in the Ornament for Clear Realization: "Just as wounds and food are desired to ripen into pus and use, so here this basis is shown to ripen into the pacification of the two sides and into complete use." This means that, for example, although the cause of wounds and barley and other foods has not yet ripened, it has already been established as a cause, and it will soon ripen into pus and usability, just as one hopes. In the Paramita Vehicle, it is established that on that very basis, one can abandon what is to be seen and cultivate the antidote, the path of seeing. Here, it means being able to abandon the two obscurations to be abandoned and being able to obtain the supreme accomplishment to be obtained, or becoming a vessel and fortunate one capable of explaining and meditating on the profound meaning of the two stages, which is ripening. Second, the word Abhiṣiñca (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means to pour, and pouring water symbolizes purifying the continuum by pouring away obscurations; the word Abhiṣikta (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means to pour into, because empowering is pouring the power of wisdom into a pure vessel of the continuum. The Later Examination states: "Pouring and pouring into, therefore it is called empowerment." The Oral Instructions of Manjushri states: "Pouring in, pouring out, and purifying make the teacher great." Its commentary states: "Among them, pouring in means pouring the wisdom of water, etc., into a pure vessel purified by common vows, etc., and pouring it into the continuum, thereby obtaining the seeds of purification of the habitual tendencies of the Alaya, etc. Therefore, it is said to purify, that is, to make it a vessel. Making the teacher great means obtaining the empowerment of the Vajra Acharya." Alternatively, Abhiṣiñca (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) means to empower, and through the four empowerments, one is successively empowered to meditate on the generation stage, tummo caṇḍālī (gTum mo tsaN+Da laI,藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), the wheel of the mandala, the path of the fourth, the great seal, etc., and to expound the tantras of action, performance, etc., and to accomplish common accomplishments, etc. For example, just as a king is empowered to rule the country when he is enthroned.

Furthermore, as stated in "Clarifying the Union," "These empowerments also grant the authority to listen to, explain, and practice mantras and tantras." As it is said. Or, as stated in the "Two Examinations," "For the sake of washing away impurities and establishing eligibility." Therefore, the four empowerments cleanse the impurities of body, speech, and mind, and establish the eligibility to practice the four paths, such as the generation stage. Moreover, regarding the meaning of the many words and meanings that appear in the tantras, the omniscient Butön said, "To act for the sake of washing away impurities, to establish power for the sake of empowerment, to practice for the sake of attaining the fruit, and to be called empowerment for the sake of giving liberation." As he summarized and said. The third is the classification: First, the cause empowerment that ripens the unripe; second, the path empowerment that puts the ripened into practice; and finally, the supreme fruit empowerment that obtains the fruit that has been taken. Among these, the first is the sequence of ripening empowerments that the master performs for the disciple, which will be explained. The second is that after obtaining the cause empowerment, one takes it oneself through samadhi, etc., but mainly it is the practice of samadhi for the meaning of empowerment related to the fruit. The third is that manifesting the unsurpassed Bodhi is also obtaining the supreme empowerment, and the basis of the symbolic empowerment is the empowerment of great radiance. Fourth, the faults of not being empowered are: If one does not obtain empowerment, even if one understands the meaning of the tantra without inversion, no matter how much one strives to practice, it is impossible to obtain special accomplishments, so the effort is fruitless. Not only that, but even if one obtains a small accomplishment, both the master and the disciple will fall into hell, etc., the faults are very great. As stated in the "Root Tantra of the Kalachakra," "Without empowerment, explaining the tantra, practicing the profound Suchness, even if one understands its meaning well, one will fall into hell and not be liberated." And so on, countless scriptures appear. Moreover, the initiation of empowerment must also be done through the pure ritual spoken of in the tantra, without self-creation. If drawing lines, painting colors, placing symbols, etc., are not done as described in the tantra, great faults will occur. If the actual ritual of empowerment does not conform to the tantra, and empowerment is performed by self-creation, there will be great faults.
