Therefore, it is the continuum of nature or cause. By the power of the conditions that act together, it is the continuum of the basis or means. By the power of the perfect enlightenment of the two benefits, it is the continuum of the non-robbery or fruit. To enter this continuum, this meaning alone is important, so here is a brief explanation of the meaning. The continuum of the cause is the nature of the mind that remains unchanged like the sky from sentient beings to the Buddha. That is, in the sutras, there are the realms, the essence of the Sugata, the lineage of the naturally abiding, etc., and in the lower tantras, there are the self-nature of the self, the mind of enlightenment, and the mind of Samantabhadra, etc., which are called by many names. However, in this supreme yoga tantra, if it is explained in conjunction with the meaning of E Vaṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evaṃ, Thus) union, the nature of the mind is unchanged from sentient beings to the Buddha, it is the awareness within the nature of one's own awareness, it is the great bliss that does not change supremely, that is, the one with three dharmas, is called Suchness, the Vajradhara of the cause, the primordial Buddha, etc., which is the meaning of the letter Vaṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: वं, Sanskrit Romanization: vaṃ, letter). This Suchness is also the key point of the mind of Dharmata, so it has form or appearance, and this appearance appears as the aggregates of ordinary samsara at the time of impurity, and at the time of purity and impurity, the yogi's samadhi appears in abundance, and at the time of extreme purity, the Buddha's body, speech, and mind appear as an inexhaustible wheel of ornaments. The nature of various forms is the ultimate emptiness that possesses all forms, all forms, all powers, etc., which is the meaning of the letter E (Sanskrit Devanagari: ए, Sanskrit Romanization: e, letter). Such E Vaṃ (Sanskrit Devanagari: एवं, Sanskrit Romanization: evaṃ, Thus) union, in terms of being the proximate cause of enlightenment, is the cause. As the Uttaratantra says: 'The afflictive shells of sentient beings, without beginning and unrelated, the stainless nature of the mind, is said to be without beginning.' Thus, from beginningless time, it abides in the nature of the mind, and continues from sentient beings to the Buddha, so it is called continuum. The meaning of nature is also, root

As it says in the Wisdom (bshes rab): "Self-nature is pure and uncreated, It does not depend on others." Thus, it is not newly created or fabricated by conditions, but is the nature of the essence of mind, therefore it is self-nature. The continuum of the basis or means: broadly speaking, it refers to all the forms of the path that lead from the awakening of the lineage to enlightenment. Narrowly speaking, the empowering empowerment and the liberating path with its branches are called the basis, just as the basis for the growth of a sprout is the earth. These paths are the support for the accomplishment and existence of the fruit of enlightenment. Both the temporary and ultimate attainments are related to the two stages of the path, which are related to the vows and precepts of reliance, and this is related to the entrance empowerment, hence it is called continuum. The term "means" also refers to the fact that the path itself is the co-operative cause for manifesting the fruit of enlightenment. There are two types of means, distant and near. The distant means are the paths from any of the three vehicles of the Paramitas to the Yoga Tantras. The near means are the two stages of the Great Yoga path with its branches, preceded by empowerment. The continuum of the fruit is that very cause of close attainment itself, transformed from being free from all temporary defilements, manifesting as the fully enlightened state with two purities, becoming the basis for the benefit of others. If the temporary obstacle of obscuration ceases, or if one enters into inferior Nirvana characterized by the cessation of awareness, then the basis for the benefit of others will deteriorate and be taken away. If it is not like that, but continues constantly, therefore it is called not being taken away. As long as space is not exhausted, sentient beings will not be exhausted, and as long as sentient beings are not exhausted, enlightenment will not cease, therefore it has the characteristic of permanence, hence it is called continuum. The term "fruit" also refers to the ultimate lord that is greatly desired by the Bodhisattvas who practice in the gate of mantra, therefore it is called fruit. Such a meaning is clearly stated in the "Ear of Instructions." This is also very easy to understand.
