It is not merely through the way of entering, but it appears as an aspect or manner of holding great compassion for all beings without exception. Moreover, since the appearance of the two, grasper and grasped, has ceased, and it has not gone beyond the expanse of non-elaboration, it is without an object, and therefore it is called compassion without an object. Furthermore, the bliss of Karma Mudra also appears as an aspect of compassion, as it is said: "All should be offered as the cause of enlightenment, with wisdom and means, the king and ministers possessing compassion, endowed with the mind of vows." Thus, the bliss of Karma Mudra is focused on sentient beings, the bliss of Jnana Mudra is focused on Dharma, and the bliss of Mahamudra is without focus, these are the three kinds of compassion. The establishment of great bliss as conventional is because, although great bliss is not truly conventional, it is necessary to realize it by relying on the means of conventional melting bliss. Therefore, it is established as conventional in a way that is related to the conventional. Here, in the Kalachakra, in the uncommon establishment, the term ultimate truth is applied to the immutable great bliss, because it is distinguished by the cessation of elaborations such as grasper and grasped. The term conventional truth is applied to the emptiness-form Mahamudra, which possesses all supreme aspects, because it abides in the nature of that conventional dharma and its dharmata in a way that is similar in aspect to the conventional. In reality, the immutable bliss and the one possessing all supreme aspects are of the same essence. Although the immutable bliss itself is the dharmata of all dharmas, from the aspect of immutability and bliss, it abides in the self-nature of the ultimate alone. And the great bliss itself, from the aspect of appearing in all aspects, has become the self-nature or dharmata of all conventional dharmas. Therefore, the aspect of all aspects is established as conventional truth. Therefore, the necessity here is to be able to realize it in that way. This is also called the union of cause and effect, although the cause and effect of what is produced and what produces are not real, the dharmadhatu, the nature of the causes, is emptiness-form, and the dharmadhatu of the effects is immutable bliss, because from its own essence, it also appears as bliss from emptiness, so the cause and effect and the aspect are the same.

Ah! Although there is no difference in terms of intrinsic nature, in the way yogis realize it, through the first five branches of yoga (discipline, diligence, contentment, chastity, and mindfulness), one realizes the characteristics of all aspects, but does not realize the aspect of unchanging bliss. In order to realize it even after samadhi, in order for the path of realizing great bliss to arise from the path of realizing only emptiness, the wisdom of the path of realization becomes cause and effect, therefore, the term cause and effect is also used for the object of realization, the dharmadhatu. Therefore, the actual union of the path arises from the branch of samadhi. Moreover, the union of knowing and knowledge merging into one must be understood as the union of emptiness and compassion being inseparable. Thus, emptiness endowed with the supreme of all aspects is the mind to be grasped, that is, the object of knowledge; the supreme method, the unchanging great bliss, is the mind that grasps, that is, knowledge. Since seeing the appearance of such an object of knowledge precedes the later arising of such knowledge, the former is called the cause and the latter is called the effect. In this branch, these causes and effects are mixed in an inseparable way and expand each other, so it is also called union. In short, since the nature of the ground abides in the nature of union, the wisdom of the result is also of the nature of union. For this reason, the means or path to accomplish it must also be of the nature of union, because it is the nature of things that a similar result arises from a similar cause. As just explained, this union is the nature of the union of the wisdom of unchanging great bliss and emptiness endowed with the supreme of all aspects. This is also the union of great compassion and emptiness, and it is also the union of the illusory body and clear light. Thus, in the Uttaratantra of the Guhyasamaja it is said: The body of yoga method, is not transformed by wisdom alone, method and wisdom are in harmony, the yoga thus spoken by the Tathagata. Thus it is said, great compassion, clear light, and unchanging bliss all become one meaning, and that itself is method, as is commonly known.
