In the 'Unmanifest Manifest Enlightenment,' it says: 'By abiding in the characterized, one attains the supreme siddhi of the victorious ones. By abiding in the uncharacterized, one can also accomplish the characterized. Therefore, in all circumstances, one should rely on the uncharacterized.' Thus it is said. Second, the conduct of union: The conduct of union lies in being skilled in the characterized and uncharacterized. Common conduct of union also has two types: characterized and uncharacterized. The first, outer characterized: Through possessing the four branches of recitation, restraining the breath, and reciting a number reaching a hundred thousand, etc., one diligently cultivates the deity. Inner characterized: Visualizing oneself as the Victorious Shakyamuni, generating Vairochana on the moon disc in the heart, writing the mantra on the moon disc in his heart, restraining the breath and reciting. Uncharacterized: The deity's body and one's own nature are inseparable. Deconstructing the nature of appearances such as color into minute particles, examining them thoroughly. As realized, the mind is merely self-luminous, one's own body is separated from the deity's form, realizing the unmanifest, and reciting as appropriate. This is according to the explanation of some scholars, but in reality, it belongs to the category of the aforementioned uncharacterized yoga, so most do not distinguish it separately. Third, the conduct of accomplishment: The conduct of accomplishment lies in inner and outer, common and uncommon, accomplishing desire realm, form realm, vidyadharas, etc. Thus it is said. After completing the practice, relying on the inner and outer mandalas, one accomplishes common and uncommon siddhis. Among them, common outer siddhi: Drawing a mandala, holding a sword, etc., and reciting, the object burns, and holding it in hand, one accomplishes vidyadharas, etc. Uncommon inner siddhi: Relying on the mandala of the four elements, practicing wind yoga, thereby, the inner siddhi relies solely on the mind, accomplishing the five superknowledges such as miraculous powers, entering the state of vidyadhara, thereby greatly accomplishing the benefit of oneself and others, which are the retinue, etc. In this tantra, relying on substances, one can become a vidyadhara equal to the gods of the desire and form realms of the ultimate Akanishta.
