Fifth, it should also be gathered without being disturbed by the distribution of food and drink, etc. Fifth, regarding the method of how to practice, there are two parts: a brief indication and a detailed explanation. The first part is: the object of meditation is divided into two types: equal abiding and non-equal abiding. This is the first part. The second part is divided into two types: yoga of equal abiding and yoga of non-equal abiding. The first part has three aspects: the preliminary practices of the practice method, the main part of the generation stage, and what extends from the four common Dharma paths. The first part is: the preliminary practice of equal abiding is to pacify obstacles, avoid adverse conditions, and create favorable conditions. This means that the preliminary practice of equal abiding meditation has three aspects. First, to give offerings to pacify obstacles: gather all the items in that place, possessing the characteristics of a seat, facing, direction, and posture, etc., and first give offerings to the earth deities. In the 'Two Examinations Tantra', it says: 'If here, all the earth deities are worshiped with offerings, then the yogis will become auspicious.' In the treatises of 'Dakini Ocean' and especially 'Clarifying Lotus Born', it is also said that offerings should be given at the beginning of the practice method. The necessity of doing so is for the purpose of pacifying obstacles and the disturbances of wrong views. In the 'Two Examinations Tantra', it says: 'For the sake of protecting the lives of sentient beings from obstacles and leading astray, Vajrasattva taught the offerings.' Second, to meditate on the protective circle to avoid adverse conditions: the common one is to meditate on various vajra grounds and tents, etc., and the special one is to visualize a yellow ten-spoked wheel, placing ten wrathful deities on the spokes, destroying all obstacles. These rituals are recorded in the 'Tent Tantra' and the 'Guhyasamaja Tantra', etc. Abhaya placed the syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) in the center of the wheel, and placed ten wrathful deities on the spokes, which is considered the protective circle of most practice methods. If the harm of obstacles is great, it is said that rituals such as summoning obstacles and driving pegs should also be performed. In the practice of Chakrasamvara, within the common protective circle, wrathful deities are placed on eight-spoked and ten-spoked wheels, and rituals such as driving pegs are performed. The directions are bound with the mantra of the four-faced deity, and then the protective circle is made with the threshold pegs, etc., that arise from the mantra. Third, to accumulate the two accumulations to create favorable conditions.

Now, the assembly of offerings in the 'Tent Continuum' involves offering to the Vajra-holder Lama, purifying the seven limbs completely, and generating the mind of enlightenment, just like that. The assembly of wisdom in the 'Tent Continuum' and others is said to be the practice of emptiness. Among them, the meaning of the mantra of Svabhava (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་བ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभाव, Sanskrit Romanization: svabhāva, Chinese literal meaning: self-nature) is that all phenomena of the apprehended and the apprehender are naturally completely pure, that is, practicing emptiness without self-nature. And, the meaning of the mantra of Shunyata (Tibetan: ཤཱུ་ནྱ་ཏཱ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: शून्यता, Sanskrit Romanization: śūnyatā, Chinese literal meaning: emptiness) is that such an object, emptiness, and the subject, wisdom, are practiced as the nature of being inseparable. Moreover, since all phenomena have never been established from the beginning as their own essence, nature, or entity, the view of deciding on unborn emptiness, which is free from all elaborations of imputation, is remembered through familiarity, and if not familiar, it must be destroyed and then determined as emptiness, as stated in the treatises of the great accomplished ones. Regarding this, some say that this is forcibly practicing emptiness and the term of practicing abiding in the ground. Some treatises say that at this time, after gathering the outer and inner world into luminosity, emptiness is practiced. For this, it is necessary to gather the appearances of the outer and inner world into luminosity and not to focus on anything, and to remember both the emptiness of the meaning of the mantra. Some think that in such cases, generating the clarity of the support and supported of the pure deity, and contemplating all impure outer and inner worlds as empty of anything, is meaningless. The necessity of practicing emptiness is, as Jowo Je said: Thus, reciting the two types of mantras three times is for being able to realize emptiness, and for reviving and stabilizing the memory of emptiness, and for perfecting the assembly of wisdom, and for abandoning the ordinary thoughts of body, speech, and mind, and for realizing all supports and supported as the magical display of emptiness. Just like that. Second, explaining the actual generation stage in three parts: generating the support, the palace; generating the supported, the deity; and explaining the complete limbs. First, the actual support, the palace, as it says, at the beginning of entering the actual generation stage, the support, the palace, is meditated upon. For this, most treatises say that as the basis of generation, the Dharmadhatu and the accumulation of elements in sequence, etc., are generated, and among them, there is also the gradual melting from the sequence of elements.
